Is there an alternative to MyWi for iPad tether?

Unfortunately, the rumored $2 wifi hotspot app never materialized. I went the iTether/TetherMe route months ago and overall that has worked fairly well.

The only free alternative to MyWI of which I know is pirating MyWi (which is stealing and looked down upon). Sorry.

I know it's an old post but the hypocrisy of this is hilarious and sad at the same time.
