Biggest plus besides having a fitness tracker is checking your notifiactions without having to reach for your phone every single time. Especially if you get a lot of notifications throughout the day.

I never wore a watch prior to this, so I feel like this was a smooth transition into watch wearing...it's nice to have the time, date, and weather on my wrist at all times.

I feel like having my watch actually saves my phone some battery life, since I don't have to check my phone every single time, so I really like that aspect.

I workout 2-3 times a week so it's nice to track that (and I kind of find it cool to get updates from your friend's activities too), and I like the reminders to stand up and walk around while I'm at work (desk job). Currently trying to get Apple to fix the darn Breathe reminders.

For you? Probably not.

The biggest reason why I wear an Apple Watch is for health.

Let me explain - this may be a bit long so feel free to skip:

I used to be a really thin kid growing up, to the point where people wondered if I was malnourished. I just found eating to be a waste of time and spent a lot of time outdoors. Well, jr high - high school basically makes kids spend insane amounts of time sitting down. This is when I started noticing I was growing outwards instead of upwards. Not only was I supposed to sit all day but I was supposed to spend most of the day sitting down doing "homework" stuff after school too. I also got heavily into computers right before jr high too (that didn't help the weight issue).

So, fast forward to a few years of college - I was pretty heavy and so out of shape such that just running one block had me out of breath and dying. My first activity tracker was a Jawbone Up Move (something you clip to your pants but it synced to the phone). It became pretty clear to me, with this device, I wasn't moving enough. Started running, little at a time until I could run miles - shed 40 pounds that year. Since then, these activity trackers, health devices, whatever you want to call them, have been a huge part of keeping me from becoming a 400 pound land monster.

FitBit was great but so inaccurate at tracking running, I didn't run much - I just walked a lot.

The Apple Watch (purchased late Nov 2017) was a HUGE change in my life - I didn't need to lug my phone around and I got super accurate run reports with accurate heart rate monitoring. Since I've owned my AW3 I've run more than I have in my ENTIRE life - even did a 7 day challenge running 2-3 miles EVERY DAY (first time in my life).

Having the time is nice - I turn off all notifications except for calls and iMessages or my watch would be buzzing all day. Turning off the phone alarm from watch is nice.

The sleep monitoring and heartwatch apps are AMAZING. Love being able to see sunrise/sunset with weather just by lifting my wrist.

But, as you can see, all the above words = the biggest reason why I have the watch... Health and motivation to keep running/moving. Sure it isn't the only reason but it definitely was a big reason.

I bought mine purely for health and fitness purposes - no timekeeping, no notifications, nada but workouts and physical activities. My daughter-in-law uses the LTE connectivity a lot and has almost thrown her iPhone into a drawer since she got hers. In between us, my older son and my wife mostly use the watch while they're carrying their phones, but not always, and do receive and send messages and even emails from their watches, but not on LTE.

I find myself using mine more for fitness than I do for notifications Over anything else. When I first purchased the Apple Watch, I wasn't sure how I would use it being it had so many capabalities. But the more you use the Apple Watch, you find how it's accustomed to your lifestyle.

Turned off notifications... I just found them too distracting to the point of annoyance. I use my phone for them.
Use pedometer and heart rate, that's about all.

Mainly just use it as a watch...

I like it though!

I you don’t need any features it offers...don’t use it. Are you asking us to tell you why you need one? I love ur for my notifications, fitness tracker, abs or reminds me when to drink water etc. if you don’t need help with stuff like that then don’t get one.
