Last september I bought my first MacBook, I was reading a lot before I bought it, reading all the terrible stories about all the bad things people were experiencing with their macbooks, heat, whine, random shutdown, etc

I got mine and it was fantastic, great laptop, never had any trouble.

Since I was so happy with my mb I decided to go to a mbp when the santa rosa/led backlight upgrade was announced, I sold my macbook to a friend, ordered my mbp, the wait started, started reading formus again, horror stories about 1/3 yellow screens, scorching heat, demon beasts escaping from the mbp!

I received mine today and it is absolutely PERFECT! it is a SR 2,4ghz stock but bto because I wanted a qwerty instead of azerty keyboard (I live in Belgium). It's the greatest piece of hardware I ever touched, I'm estatic.

I registered here just to tell this, to put into contrast that most of the things you read here are worst case scenario and a lot of mbp buyers wont register or post here that everything is just fine.

I like mine better than I like most people.

Could not be happier that I made the switch from PC to Mac! :)
Hehe, KristieMac, I have to agree with you there... even though I'm not a PC to Mac switcher like you are. I have a C2D 2.33 GHz 17" MBP, and I love the thing. Hasn't given me any trouble so far, though I sometimes wish I had a bigger internal hard drive... such is the life of a laptop user, I guess.

Love my 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro. Not a single problem with it. For fun, I took it on a a business trip recently, along with my work-required Thinkpad. When I sat down in the conference room and pulled out the MBP, the response was incredible. I think I sold 10 MBPs for Apple that day.

Received my MBP 2.2 almost a week ago all I can say is WOW. Extremely fast, great screen! I have not had any problems.

The only thing I would like Apple to change is to get rid of the MS office trial and instead us Neo office.:D

Not very happy with the screen. I'm on LCD #2 and honestly, they're not very durable. First screen lasted me 6 months and it had lots of little black dots, this second one has developed white dotes around the middle of the screen, as well as some dark spots like the first one.

Other than that, pretty happy. I am rough on equipment, and this is the first laptop that I've had where I was concerned about the LCD screen. It might just be what comes with the territory.

17@ 2.4Ghz 2Gb with the 7,200rpm 160GB Hard Drive and it's absolutely fantastic. Seriously quick, reliable (touch wood), light (for a 17 anyway), doesn't get too hot (after trying a 15 and 17 inch MBP it's amazing how much difference the extra surface area makes) and it runs both OSX and Vista like a dream. It's also the only notebook that I've ever had fondled by random work colleagues which, granted, has nothing to do with how happy I am with the machine but is at least good for a chuckle :D

:::: hugs original CD MBP ::::

I love my computer :) It's been perfect in EVERY WAY! :D

::heart:: :apple:

My 2.4 15" is absoultly amazing!!!!! I have NOT A SINGLE ISSUE!!!

Ben <3's MBP SR

There's been so much complaining around here of late (some of it justified, no doubt) that I can't help but wonder if there's anyone besides me who is actually satisfied with their MBP? I've got a C2D 2.33, and I've been happy with it since Day 1.

Anyone else?

No problems at all. It's been two weeks already. I maxed out everything except RAM.

Perfect!

I have a C2D 2.33 MBP and it's perfect. I use it all day at work with Vista (running via BootCamp) and all night running OS X. It runs them both like an absolute champ. I have never had cause to question the quality of the machine, never had any issues with the screen or the heat of the unit and think it's far and away the best value laptop I could've got at the time. I love it to bits :D

Now, if I can only justify purchasing a hi-res 17" SR MBP. Still trying to convince myself I *need* it ;)

I truly believe mine is the best computer I've ever touched, and I'm a computer tech, so I've seen plenty.

There is nothing wrong with mine, it's stunning in every way, I don't regret my purchase at all, and it was well worth the money I paid.

My only miff is the battery life... I have not successfully gone beyond 3:30 hours with level 1 brightness and surfing the web. It is disappointing and I think something might be wrong...

Other than what appear to be common problems, like the screen being a tenth of an inch uneven, and the case being slightly uneven along the border, the notebook is perfect. No bad screen, no other problems. It's fast, it's beautiful, and it's MINE!!! Don't regret making your purchase. Jump in now, the water's fine.

Being a first time Apple computer owner, so far my new SR MBP has been perfect. I love it to death. It has meet my expectations and more. I've been using it so much, I barely come on these forums anymore, hah =P Here's a pic of my work area:

I have a C2D 2.16 and I love it. It has to be the funnest laptop I have owned. I have not had any issues with it at all. It runs hot, but all laptops do and it's not hot enough to cause any issues.
