i think multitasking on the iphone os 4 is awesome. i think its much faster and less battery use. pretty much anything else is useless to me.

Did they mention anything similar to quickreply for SMS?

i think you can just use multitasking to answer then go back. it does not be as fast as quickreply but still you dont need to reload your app

I haven't seen anything about a quickreply for sms or any kind of useful lockscreen like lockinfo. If Apple wants to discourage people from jailbreaking, they really need to give us the features that we know and love on the jb side of things.

I just read on the news section (I think) that the new SDK gives devs the ability to access the SMS while in any application. Which would be the same as quickreply. Lemme see if i can find that again.

EDIT:
Here it is:
"Apple notes that there are over 1,500 new APIs available in iPhone OS 4, including access to the Calendar application, in-app SMS, access to photos and videos in users' Photos libraries, full control over video playback and capture, mapping improvements, and incorporation of Quick Look functionality for previewing documents."

I saw that too but I don't think that means quickreply for sms - I'm pretty sure that's something else altogether.

My jb 3G with backgrounding is damn near useless. If i background pandora, about all i can do is check email or something before it crashes. so 4.0 os looks pretty badass to me, and i'll finally have a reason to upgrade!

It would a way for that particular app to acess your SMS app but it wont be a universal type of quickreply that you can respond when you're using anything without going to the Messages app.

That's kind of what I think too. It would be ridiculous if they don't give us a quick reply option though. Having to go into the messages app to reply to an sms is time-consuming.

I agree... It's simple things like these that apple keeps over looking. But I guess thats where jb comes in. I wouldnt keep my iphone if i couldnt jb it. :)

I totally agree but I'd really like to keep my phone stock if at all possible. It's not that jailbreaking is such a hassle but sometimes it's a pain to update your phone when Apple comes out with an update. I'm not big on theming or anything like that so if they would give me quickreply, a useful lockscreen and a reasonable tethering option, I wouldn't even care to jb. There may be a couple of other things that I'm missing but those are the major ones to me anyway.

Games?

What about the Game Center (XBOX LIVE COPY) ---I personally can't wait for this :D

apple still doesn't give us the option to customize. fail. apart from letting us to alter the background... i will not give up jailbreaking until they give us full access to customize our icons and sms bubbles.

anyhow i still can't find one single feature where a jailbroken iphone can't do on OS4.0.
