Nope, not yet. They said it will be released during the first half of 2009. So, in the next few months, hopefully.

What makes this wait particularly harsh is that there have been zero recent rumours. I suppose all the rumour mills have been focusing on SJ instead of product recently.

There have been the rumors about the iPhone Nano which were commented on by Apple a few hours earlier today.

Otherwise I'm with you. I am using my aging Treo 650 until a new iPhone gets released. It's served me for years but it's getting older and older. But I just can not give it up (or its copy and paste!). So hopefully it will last until the next revision. And I hope it's not just 32 GB bump (sure that's what I am mainly waiting for) but a little hardware upgrade would be nice too. And of course everything software related. But for these kind of discussions we already have other threads.

If you look at the market and look what suppliers and rivals are producing it doesnt take a massive leap to deduce what steps will be followed in an evolutionary product like iphone or itouch/ipod, since when has more storage not sold?
I dont make my predictions based on inside knowledge or reading tea leaves its just looking at the market and what Apple has done in the past, I may well be wrong but Apple needs press coverage to stay highly visual to the market place, thats why i think they wont wait till the next iphone to bump storage - after all they dont wait till a line refresh to bump processor speeds.
The market always moves on when new product is available manufacturers use it, as 32gb chips are available they will inevitably use them, from ship from production to installation in product usually takes no more than 2 to 3 months for established product lines hence why i think they will be to market end of Feb beginning of March
