I think it has all been said already, but I'll repeat some things.
1) the iMac will not replace a windows 7 pc. It can do some things that the windows 7 can't, but it won't really replace it.
2) the iMac will make a great "extra" computer to have just for fun / playing.
3) The black MacBook is a good machine. I'm typing on a white 2007 and have zero problems with it.
4) Netflix is impossible on the iMac. Sorry.
5) YouTube will be iffy on the iMac. Depends on the specs. I have an 800mhz G4 iMac and it doesn't handle YouTube. MacTubes is better, bust still not good.
6) Working on the inside of the iMac isn't impossible. The tricky part is the heat sink is 2 pieces. 1 piece is in the base and the other piece is in the dome. You use thermal paste between the 2 as you put it back together.
