I made $360 off of an additional unlocked x when I purchased mine. It’s simple economics. I stood in line for 3 hours. The guy who bought the phone could afford and was very happy to buy it. I paid myself for my 3 hours. Life’s about choices.

Would you say coming from a 6 it would be a huge step up?
My wife picked up my X on release day, but I’ve been away at work. I won’t get to fondle it until today, but yes, it is a huge leap forward compared to our 6. Premium phone with premium features and likely two times as fast.

I would have made about that but my pre-order got pushed back to this friday so...

Upgrading to iPhone X has more cons than pros. Are you OK with Face-IDing instead of a simple button press to unlock? Are you ok with swiping up instead of pressing a button? Are you okay with swiping up and holding instead of double tapping a button?
"Upgrading" to iPhone X will only make daily tasks more difficult to perform. IF really need a new phone, 8 is a better option IMO.
Majority of the people who I've talked to said it took them 5 minutes to adjust and while touch ID may be slightly faster, FaceID is still pretty accurate.

$140 for less than an hour of work is never a waste of time. Assuming OP used a credit card to buy, OP probably sold before credit card payment was due so no interest payments either. If OP used a cash back card, OP still gets money back too.
Credit with the cash back bonuses :) Plus having good amount of savings for investments like this comes in handy ;)

My personal opinion is you have 14 days! I would say buy it and test it! if you think it's worth the money then keep it if not then just buy an iPhone 8. It's a lot of money to shell out so I understand, even if I had lots of money I would still think twice, thats why I'm taking advantage of the 14 day return policy, if I don't like it and I don't think it's worth it then its going back to Apple and I'm just keeping my iPhone 7 Plus!
Was thinking of doing that anyway...

I have had my x since launch. I think all this talk about not having a home button is ridiculous. Double tapping is not more efficient than the new gesture. Especially when your double tap doesn’t register because the tap speed is off. Sometimes it registers as a triple tap for me. The home bar gesture is the greatest reason for my love of the X. It’s true that face id isn’t as fast as Touch ID. But the difference is minuscule. It’s funny to see how reluctant some of us are to change.

I see the 8/8+ being better phones if you are looking to keep it 3 years, personally.

why? just wondering

because they have the same processor but less screen to drive, plus they are more of a refined version of the product whereas the X is a beta product. I think the X will show its age long term before the 8/8+ will, personally.
