The scammers always do the same thing... They say Unlock the latest and greatest phone NOW!!!

The sucker (hopefully) Googles around finds out there is no free way to unlock their phone "NOW" so they decide to pay for it, since this guy looks tooootally legit.

Once receiving the money, the website does the "service" of telling you "actually it's almost ready, you'll have to wait and we have no ETA".

Then iPhone-dev or geohot release an unlock.

Shortly after you get an email (if you're lucky) saying something like "We're done!" They send you a re-skinned (if they took the time) version of a free application for you to use.

Also... It's worth it to point out that with a jailbroken phone you CAN be vulnerable to things like trojans if distributed to your device. It's not beyond possible that the owners of this site, having already shown shady ethics pawning off a free app to you for cash, would include such an application.

And FINALLY... With a jailbroken phone you have the ability to screw up your fancy toy if you're not sure what you're doing. As a general rule, if you can't use the internet to find out how to hack your device, you shouldn't be doing it.

It's NOT a service.

Because they were trying to sell unlocks before it was available.

Otherwise they repackage FREE software to scam people.

I didn't even look at the website. I figured that they were just having people pay for them to jailbreak their phone for them. I didn't know they were selling software.

paying someone just to jailbreak ur phone wouldn't be illegal. I just didn't realize that they were selling the software.

So without bothering actually to read the site in question you decided to the offer the OP your opinion that what you assumed the site was doing was not illegal. Maybe next time it would be best to say nothing at all.

Unlockiphoneos4.com. Scam!

Hi, recently i found this page http://unlockiphone4os.com/index.html

They charge for unlocking even the :apple:iPhone 4, but I think is a scam. Any one knows anything about this web site?

Hello! this website is a scam ! they advertise PayPal but as soon as you pay they will take your money and run! no support ! they claim they have 24 hours support but they will not return your emails! Unlockiphoneos4.com BEWARE!!! PayPal will not reimburse your money because it is a downloadable software! they have nothing to do with that even if you open your fraud case! All iPhone unlock software is free of charge developed by a dev team and is distributed for free at Iclarified.com

PS. Unlock websites will have outdated links to free pages and free software they do not write the software they do not update the software either...you will be scamed !!! you will be sorry !!!
