Is this lightning cable safe to use?

Personally I wouldn't use it.

i would replace it but also seen alot worse.

maybe keep in drawer as emergency back up should you snap end off another cable.
then use this one until you can buy a new one to replace the snapped one

Ah yes the perfect Apple engineering strikes again!

All Lightning cables do that. Eventually the cables inside start to snap, and that is when it gets dangerous.

Right now you could still save it with some electrical tape.

If you're near a store just take it in and Apple will replace it. I've done this with several cables.
