I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or what that image means.
Is it legit?

That is definitely NOT legit. That ISO name doesn't even follow Microsoft's naming conventions. For example, here's the name of the 32 and 64-bit discs for Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1:

32-bit: GRMCHPFRER_EN_DVD
64-bit: GRMCHPXFRER_EN_DVD

actually it probably is legit because there is no 2 pack downloads only single or 3 packs so he probably bought the software used it for himself and is now selling to recoup costs.

but time old sayin if it seems too good to be true it probably is.

He has 10 copies available and all his (200+) reviews are for that software. Lol, I think it's fake :(

I dont know if this is of any use but in the uk if you work for a government agency or are a student there is possible discounts on this software, these are certified Microsoft gold partners. As a student i would have got a copy for £37.89 inc vat. but due to the government agency discount it cost around £20 for a genuine copy with two licenses.
dont know if you have anything like this in the states though??

It will probably install on as many computers as you want as it's pirated. He just says two to avoid the suspicion that "unlimited license" would cause. And, since "2" is better than other sellers "1", he hopes to sell more.

OP - either buy it legit or pirate for free, but don't buy a pirate copy.

Here in Greece, some universities have a deal with microsoft so that every student and teacher (and probably whoever else works there) gets free microsoft office, free windows xp-vista-7 (2 licenses each windows).
If you're in a school or college or university you should check with them.

Also, @OP: Have you considered using openoffice or libreoffice? Give them a try, they're both free!

Through work's business relation with MSFT I get the employee purchase through MSFT store on the Office Enterprise 2010 software which includes the following products:

Access
Excel
InfoPath Designer
InfoPath Filler
OneNote
Outlook
PowerPoint
Publisher
SharePoint Workspace
Word

For 10$

Alternatively I can get the Mac version as well for 10$ but obviously there is quite a bit fewer products

Just read this thread because I am getting ready to purchase this software but I think everyone here is right - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Another question I have that is sorta related: I can get the student edition for $99 pretty much anywhere, but if you order it when you order a MacBook computer it is $119. Are they just charging an extra $20 to install it? I'm switching from Windows to Mac and am very versed at installing software in Windows but not so much in Mac, I'm just curious if I'm wasting $20 by paying them to install it when I can't imagine installing it myself could be that difficult.

And no, I can't use Open Office or any other freeware out there because I need it for school. Everything is submitted electronically and our instructors are very specific about not using Open Office, we have to use Word and Excel for pretty much everything we do. Hec, I even had one instructor tell us that we couldn't submit documents in .docx form, it had to be .doc because he thought the .docx was some kind of virus. These guys may be college professors but they are no geniuses! LOL!

Yes, they are charging $20 just to install it.

As someone who also recently switched, I wish I could see your face when you first install programs on a Mac and see how stupid easy it is. For most programs, it's literally dragging and dropping a file into a folder, like below, you would just drag the Firefox icon to the right 2 inches and drop it in the blue folder. Installed.

mac_firefox_3_install_3.jpg

If you want to uninstall, just delete the file from the Applications folder (the one you just dragged the file into to install).

Certain programs like Office 2011 have a more traditional installer, and install much like in Windows. You click Next, Next, put in your password, and it installs.

Through M$ Action pack I can get every recent server release and every office app including project and visio (professional) plus 10 user licenses and 10 cals for $300 bucks.

Thanks, awer! I kinda figured that, but if that's all that is involved then I'm definitely going to save my $20!

My financial aid refund hits Tuesday (dang holiday!). I can order it online and wait for it to be shipped or I can drive about an hour and a half to Greenville, SC and purchase it in the Apple Store there. I think I'm driving to Greenville, no way am I patient enough to wait until it gets shipped! Plus if I buy it at the store, I think I can just pay $99 for Office and be done with it.

Of course, my next question will be searching these boards for how to get everything transferred from my laptop to my new MacBook Pro! I'm pretty much looking at documents, pictures, music, and my iPhone sync and backup files. I'm hoping it will be easy peasy and I can do it all myself! I can't wait! Haven't owned a Mac since my old Mac Classic back in 1992!

Buy an external drive that's larger than the HDD in the new Macbook. Format it to FAT32, copy your data from the Windows machine, then copy it to the Mac. Then, format it again on the Mac (using Disk Utility) and use it for Time Machine (the built in backup system on the Mac).

Buy it from Newegg.com or Amazon.com for the best price.

I already have a 1TB external Seagate drive. My husband and I have both used it for backing up our laptops so I don't want to reformat it as he'll lose his backup. His is mostly music while mine is a combination of music and pictures. Since I'm going Apple, can we not continue to use the same external hard drive?

The issue is that Windows and OSX use different file systems. Windows uses NTFS and FAT32, and Mac uses HFS+ and FAT32 (there are others, but these are the relevant two). NTFS and HFS+ are both better than FAT32. Therefore, to use a drive on both you have to use the older FAT32 system, which means files have to be smaller than ~4GB.

I think Time Machine also needs HFS+, which means you can't use that drive for Windows. Time Machine is also a great backup tool, because it takes an image of your whole computer, programs and all. It makes it much easier to restore if there's a problem.

Therefore, ideally you would have a FAT32 external drive to share with Windows and a separate drive for Time Machine.

There are programs like MacDrive which lets Windows use HFS+, but it doesn't always work so well.

Lastly (and I don't want to make this more confusing, but...) you can also partition your 1TB drive into two 500GB partitions. This will make the computer think it's two drives. Format one partition in FAT32 and the other in HFS+, and use the latter for Time Machine. The drawback to this is that your backup is on the same drive as your external data, which means that if there's a disk failure you lose both.

wooooa. no way. it's gotta be a fake.
Even with education discount, it still cost $99 for students or teachers.
Well, if you get it from MS it does. My university is part of the MSDN Academic Alliance, and I can get a free copy of Office for Mac and Office.

Or he can just format the external drive as exFat and won't have to worry about file size limits.

Microsoft Office for Mac is not available from Mac App Store. Amazon App Store has the family version for 119$ IIRC. There is no legal way to get it for cheaper price than Amazon and others are offering.

Though, if you are a student, you may be able to get if for around $40 with education discount.

The guy replied to me:

Hi,

I have Office for Mac 2011 – Home and Business Version for $35. This is an electronic download. There is no hard copy mailed to you.

The software is fully functional and a licensed working copy of the Home and Business Version of Office 2011 for Mac which includes Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook.

I have a great eBay selling history, so you can rest easy. Please check my feedback. After payment is confirmed, I will email you the download link and the key code. The download takes about 20-40 minutes (depending on internet speed). Once downloaded, just click on the downloaded file and install it.

Question and Answers:

Q: How many times can I install this software?
A: Twice. This is a two installation packet. You can have two active installation installed. If you delete an installation, you can reinstall it again on another computer or the same computer.

Q: How do I install the software?
A: The following video is very informative and will explain the installation step-by-step. It is very easy to install. (Link provided upon purchase)

Q: Do I get a physical DVD installation Disc?
A: No, this is an electronic download only. There is no hard copy installation DVD mailed.

Q: Will I get a key code with the download?
A: Yes, the key code is registered to your PayPal email and will auto install when you install the software. You do not have to type it in.

Q: What is you refund policy?
A: Do not worry. I will refund your money if the software will not install and activate. I will refund your money if you decide you do not want an electronic copy. ( This will deactivate your product key.)

Q: Why is it so cheap?
A: I do not have to mail you a physical copy. I pass the saving on to you.

Q: How do I know this really works? What guarantee do I have?
A: Check my eBay feedback. It speaks for itself. eBay provides you with buyer protection, so you can rest easy. I am both a power seller and top rated seller in eBay because I service the customer. All sales are through eBay.

Q: I have an older version of Office on my Mac (2003 or 2007). What do I do?
A: You can keep your older version or delete it. Office 2011 is treated as a separate application. There is no conflict.

Q: I have Mac for Office 2011 as a trial version. What do I do?
A: Delete it prior to downloading my software. The software you download from my auction auto installs the key code.

Q: Do you provide a user's guide and installation instructions?
A: Yes. Please use this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=6ca3d83a-bfb2-4cb4-a3bf-86c05ace6b06

Q: What is the difference between the Student Version and the Home and Business Version for Mac 2011?
A: The Home and Business Version includes Outlook, the Student Version does not. My download is for the Home and Business Version

Q: What if I delete the application by mistake or upgrade my hard drive, will I lose the software forever?
A: No. You can back up the download file on a DVD, external hard drive or flash drive and reinstall it. You can also email me your PayPal transaction ID or email ID and I will resend you the download link.

Q: I have an older Mac computer. Will Office for Mac 2011 work on it?
A: Here are the minimum system requirements:

Office for Mac 2011 System Requirements:
A Mac computer with an Intel processor
Mac OS X version 10.5.8 or later
1 GB of RAM or more
2.5 GB of available hard disk space
HFS+ hard disk format (also known as Mac OS Extended or HFS Plus)
1280 x 800 or higher resolution monitor

And I replied:

I know you have a good seller rating. My question is, this same exact email is used for another seller selling the same product (Red Flag). You could be selling Pirated Software with the correct password, so users therefor think that if it works it's legit.

I guess my main question is, Is this a LEGAL code and not a pirated one?

And he replied back:

Yes it is Legal.. But you have choice to pay more..
Thanks

I thought digital goods were prohibited on eBay?

Also, this definitely violates listing policy, "Please contact me at officemac2011@gmail.com prior to purchase to confirm I still have this software available."
