Is this the Apple Watch packaging?

Apple updated its 'Jobs at Apple' page today, with new images and videos.

On the front page, one of the main images features an Apple Watch and alongside it something that looks like a case or packaging.

Could this be a hint at what the packaging will look like? Or is it a case?

apple are well known for having quite impressive packaging. To me, that looks like something my 1980s swatch came in.

A $400 watch to have a $2 plastic case...No way is an apple watch going to come like that!!

Someone posted another thread with the exact same headline 3 minutes after me.

Watch featured on Apple's redesigned jobs website

These are 4 of Apple's industrial designers. Looks like a watch strap box on the table?

Here's another Apple employee wearing the watch. Looks like the website design needs a little tweaking as the arrows are covering text.

 NO! GOD PLEASE NO! What happened to the nice Apple boxes??????? First the iPhone 6/6 Plus boxes now this. #BringBackSexyBoxes

EDIT: Further examination of the box makes me wonder how they are going to fit a wall adapter in there. This is leading me to believe this will not be the actual box used for the Apple Watch. I feel much better now.

I would be extremely surprised if it didn't come in a box...every watch I've ever bought came in a box. Plus, like already said, they need to pack the charger in there too.

I thought I saw the packaging somewhere already. It was a black box? Does anyone else remember seeing this image? A black charcoal grey box?

There's no way that it's coming in that sleeve thing. It's going to be in a box and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up looking similar to these:

This is from the Financial Times interview with Ive:

Nothing escapes this forensic level of thinking. Nothing is left to chance. Nothing goes uncalculated and untested. Before I leave, Ive holds up the watch’s white outer box. Almost imperceptibly, the bottom begins to move, obeying the law of gravity that pulls it away from its other half. It is graceful, calming . . . and far from accidental. “We work out what we feel is the optimum time for it to drop and then we back off that and work on the tolerances, and even work on the friction of the materials we use. I mean, that’s fanaticism,” he says, with a little smile. If only more fanatics were like Jony Ive.

If this is the packaging for the watch, I can only image it being for the Sport. I don't see how this form factor can hold the SS as two of it's options -- link bracelet and Milanese loop -- can't lie flat.

Why do people say "Apple are..." and not "Apple is..."?

WOW. Those are some amazing graphic skills. I DO hope that the boxes match the price. We know the edition is going to be in some serious packaging. I hope the Stainless Steel is also in appropriate packaging for a watch that is costing between $599 and $1100. Isn't the Edition also coming with some sort of charging stand?

Why do people say "Apple are..." and not "Apple is..."?

Generally those who say "Apple are" are located in a country where a corporation is usually seen as a collection of individuals - hence "Apple are." Typically this is in Commonwealth nations.

In countries where a corporation is seen as a single entity (USA etc.) you'll usually here "Apple is."

It's just a cultural difference.

Looks like the box for the sport band.

The Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport come in boxes big enough to hold a USB power adapter - I'd wager similar in size to an iPhone box.

The Apple Watch Edition comes in a special magnetic charging box with a lightning cable to power it as well as the magnetic cable for travel I suppose. That box is going to be a sight to behold.

If the box isn't nice I just cant buy it.

Then you clearly didn't want the watch in the first place.

Not sure how that's the packaging when there's no place to put the charger in it.
