Hey,
I currently have a 13pro, but am tempted to choose a 15 pro Max this time around. Mainly because of the bigger screen, I don’t care about the zoom.
I’m concerned about the sheer size and clumsiness of the device though.
I had it in my hands already (I know a few YouTubers) and it does feel significantly lighter. I say if you carry it caseless it’s really good to handle, almost feels like my current phone. But I’m gonna have to use a case since I use it to navigate on my bike and have to attach it somehow. :/

How do you owners of the bigger models feel like- is the bigger screen plus battery life something that totally overweighs the downsides like the size in your hand and pockets?

13 Pro Max here. For me the larger screen is definitely worth it. Makes it easier to read kindle books and watch videos on while I’m at work. The battery life is simply phenomenal too. Not to mention when you go with the Pro Max version you always get the latest camera tech.

That being said, I am currently looking at possibly switching to the 15 Plus since it has the same 6.7 inch screen size, 48mp sensor, good battery life… all while only weighing 201 grams! 😳

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the change now since the only downsides which might affect me (if at all) are:
1) giving up the variable 10-120hz refresh rate and only having a 60hz screen from now on
2) only 2x zoom, vs 5x zoom, on the camera

Decisions decisions 🤔

For me there is no downside. Battery life is great, larger screen is great. I always use two hands with a ~$1000 device, so using it one-handed is not a thing for me.

My phone sits in one of three places for the majority of the day. In a business card holder on my desk or nightstand or in a cup holder in the car. It also fits in my pockets.

But I might add that I appear to not be normal as many here have sometimes suggested. I work from home and aside from my eight hours of work I'm only outside the house for around 3 hours a day. I also tend to live in Dickies Carpenter pants or shorts (depending on the season) and apparently that's not something most people wear I guess. But they have plenty of pocket space. I also have a Dickies jacket for winter and my phone fits in the inside pocket just fine too.

You mentioned a bike. Quad Lock makes a series of cases and attachment tech for cars, motorcycles, bikes, etc.

Have you considered the 15 Plus? It has the larger screen that is your main reason, and it’s 3 grams lighter than your 13 Pro. Here’s the comparison:

I was in the same boat as you, I think this year I will go for the MAX version. I think sometimes that a smaller phone can let me use it one hand, but it is not at all what happen really. At the end a bigger screen, a bigger battery and a better camera makes me feel go for the bigger version.

It took me a bit to get used to my first max but now I cannot imagine using anything else. I text, take photos, watch videos and use apps/internet way more than I actually talk on my phone so the bigger screen is ideal for my usage.

Get a Loopy case. Then the biggest iPhone is way easier to hold than the smallest iPhone \ (including iPhone 5)

Life is too short to intentionally buy last year's tech today unless price is the key factor. IMO saving 20 grams weight over the Pro Max does not justify intentionally buying last year's 15+ tech.

I love the bigger screen. I rotate between one hand and two hand usage and my hand is about the length of the phone itself (my middle finger is about a cm longer than the phone when the phone’s bottom sits parallel with my wrist line).

The longer battery life is nice on the weekends. Weekday it doesn’t matter as much since I have an extra brick + cable @ work to charge my phone.

Personally I commute a lot so having the phone is handy. It’s like a mini computer.

The only issue is I like wearing smaller bags at times. It fits in the small Patagonia Fanny pack no problem. But sometimes I’m shopping for handbags and its width doesn’t accommodate the iPhone max pro’s. Strangely enough I have no issues fitting it into my joggers or pants’ pockets (they’re fitting but not skin tight).

The reason to get the “cheaper” one this time around is that it actually feels and looks better imo than the pro. We were four persons touching them and all agreed that the regular phones are design wise the better choice this year. Especially the pink one 😎

I don't know if I can ever go back from ProMotion. I'd probably get used to it, but once you see it...

I’ve always disliked how the larger models get better things. The X had solved that, and then it happened again with the 12 Pro and now 15 Pro’s camera.

I knew setting low power mode disables pro motion, but I never tried it until just now. HOLY COW.

Huge difference, but I probably could live without it if I really had to.

coming from iphone 11. yes going with iPro 15 Max is the way to go for me.

but if the iphone 15 regular/Plus version had the A17 chip, I would definitely go for that no hesitation.

i feel like there's no point going backwards to last years A16 chip on the iphone 15. besides i waited 4 long years to finally go for an upgrade and i want to make sure its worth it for me.

Pre ordered a 15 pro coming from a 14 pro. Regretting not ordering the max this time around.

Not really no matter what because I value the form factor of the pro for the way I use the device.

I have a 14+ for me personally but my work gave me a 14PM and it's way heavier, bulkier, and battery life is not as long as the 14+.

Plus I never use the fancy camera, pro motion, or video features on the 14PM so it's sort of waste for me, but then it's the taxpayer's dollar.

Look at getting the 15+....

I chose the 15 Plus over the 15 Pro Max. I can't see ProMotion. I wish it had the AOD but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
