I like the upgrades to the 15 and 17" models (especially the 1gb GPU), however the 13" does disappoint IMO.

been waiting 5 months to get a new 13"...maybe even 15"..and they come out with this junk?? Why do they call it an update when they could just told us 5 months ago "you know what, in March, we will just do a slight spec bump"

no ssd for OS? not even a measly 16 gb?? not even a slight redesign (or half a pound lighter)??? no bigger trackpad?? worse battery life??

did they think people would satisfied with a quad core CPU....i dont even need that...and intel graphics..LOL...please.

this is complete and utter crap.

Time to check out the 2010 models...sigh

Sleeker? So you want quad core and the form factor of the MBA? I think you'll be waiting a little while. It's by far the most compact "Pro" type notebook out there. I think you're waiting for a refresh of the MBA.

who even said I wanted quad core? is it really time and necessary to throw a i5 in a 13 inch when it just missed the i3 update? Did it just go from core2duo>i5? or am i missing something. im a bio major and don't know the chemistry of computer engineering, but i mean even im running on a mid 2009 MBP C2D and it works excellently, i run photoshop cs[whatever is the new version], DSLR images, iTunes, etc and it still run fine, probably because of how everything works together with apple.

the pattern with apple is that with time comes smaller and thinner form, apple shouldnt have been doing that then and spoiling their fans/customers/etc, then people wouldnt be expecting thinner versions ever so often.

"macbook air is the future, blah blah blah" i'd rather have a sleeker 15 inch laptop with an i3 or i5 than the same size i have with an i7, because i know apple's computer will still function "fast" and consistently.

my post may be flawed or whatever, but im just a consumer, not a tech junkie.
