I went to two Apple stores in Chicago this morning and it's madness!

This hasn't happened in years. Not to this extent at least. Could it be the lower starting price of the iPhone 11? There was so much negativity surrounding this year's iPhones, it's hard to believe the lines are this long.

It was not bad here in ABQ. I showed up around 6:30 and by 7 they came around and reserved our phones and we got to pick a time to go back to pick it up. At least early this morning it was not bad, we'll see how it is today when I go back to pick up my new phone and watch.

Hmm I'm in Chicago too and didn't think lines will be developed like before. I used to normally go to the Verizon Store though, past by today and saw zero in line.

I just picked mine up here in Dallas- Knox location. If you have a pre-order with a window of time to pick up your device, they put you in line in the order of pick up time. My pick up time was 9am - 9:30am and showed them the email confirmation of the time slot and they let me in right away since it was already 9:35am. Waited in line for another 10 minutes and was to the front to meet up with their sales person. He took me aside, did his thing with trading in my iPhone since I'm in their upgrade program, had them install my Belkin screen protector, and was out of there by 10:05am! Bam!!! The employees were all very helpful- especially when they came out to organize the line.

IStockNow is showing barely any stock for the Pro's this year. Apple's own website says none of the 4 stores near me have what I want in stock. On the other hand, AT&T does so I guess I have to go suffer and deal with them instead.

Mine wasn't too bad - walked in at 8.20 and out by 9. About 10 people in front of me. Would've been quicker if I pre-ordered it.

I found that the lines at my local Apple Store not to be that bad. Don't get me wrong, there were a good many people but just not crazy like I have seen in the past.

It's madness in Orlando. I have an 1130 reservation and I have already been in the reserved line for 45 minutes. Probably about 20 more to go.

Line is all the way down the mall for the reservation line alone and growing.

I went by the Apple Store in Naperville and it was busier than usual but not lines of people. Not like the days of the 4 and 5 series.

Wow. Apple is doing something right. Can’t believe this after all these years. And it’s not cheap. Paid almost $1500 CAD for a 64 GV phone!!

In Austin, TX. Had a 9:30-10am window. Arrived at 9:29 -- didn't get out until 10:29 even though I didn't activate it in the store. Lines were long!

Which store? I’m in Austin and mine should be arriving today but I checked stock for all the models in the area and looks like everywhere here is sold out!

1030-11 window, came in around 1035ish and didn’t get out until around 1130. The line for walk ins was even longer! Good thing I just told the guy I’m only picking up and don’t need any extra stuff so they got my phone to me pretty quick when I got to the front of the line.

For the life of me I don’t understand why this can’t be like any other normal purchase. For walk ins, Have the entire stock on a shelf behind the counter - people pick what they want, pay and out. Why this individual reps greeting you walking you in and all the BS.

This way the whole stock could be sold out in an hour or so. Apple still can declare it’s sold out for the day.

At Portland main store with an appointment for the Watch only. There is kind of a silly long line given I basically need to flash ID and walk out. I even have the provided scannable wallet card.

It wraps through the store and outside.

I’m guessing there is a personal visit w a retail associate to try and sell accessories.

I got to my store at 8 am for my 8 am reservation and I was 5th or 6th in line. The line for people without reservations wasn't very long either. Nothing compared to the sheer madness of launches like the iPhone 4, where people waited in line for 10-12 hours.

Picked up my Pro Max up at Williamsburg, Bklyn store at 11am. It's wasn't bad. There was a decent sized walk-in line which looked like it was much long earlier due to the extra guard rails they had up. There was about 50 people waiting for pick-up. Waited for my pick about 40 minutes. Expected to be in and out, but I'm glad I didn't choose an earlier time or busier location.

At the Metro Centre store in the UK I didn’t get there until like 9am (I think it opened at 8) and there was two queues.

One for people who has pre ordered and one for people who just turned up and I got seen in like half an hour.

DC metro Tyson’s Apple and Reston Apple stores had much less of a line this year. There was much fewer people in the walk-in lines.

8:30am pickup 11 pro max 256 midnight green, and it was a 2 minute wait. 3AB76646-B5E1-4CEA-856C-E7AFDA56F984.jpeg

Got the watch. Appointment for 10-1030. Arrived at 959. Had box in hand at 1041.

Not a big deal but my pickup could have taken a few minutes. The only interaction necessary was providing my last name and showing ID.

It was def optimized for iPhone pickups.

I’ve got a reservation for the north park store for 5:30-6 pm. Really hoping it’s not crowded!
