me - 80g classic for library/car (although it's full), 2g 2nd gen nano for working out/driving the CJ7/work (when i'm not in the office), 8g iPhone for phone/apps/web/games, itunes for the office/home stereo (with iPhone remote)

wife - 8g 3d gen nano for working out, 8g iPhone for phone/apps/web/games (god i hate tap tap revenge)

I use my 4GB first gen nano when I go to the gym, but the rest of the time I use my iPhone.

I've been trying to make my iPhone my primary iPod. It works fine if I'm sitting around at a desk listening to it, but when driving I tend to have music ADD and skip around songs/playlists like crazy. It's waaaay easier to flip through the iPod w/o much (if any) looking since it has tactile controls. I think I'll just leave the Classic in the car for dedicated use there.

I still have an 80GB iPod that I keep around for times when I want to carry my entire library with me. But for the most part, my iPhone holds more than enough tunes for day-to-day use.

I use my iPhone a lot of the time (16GB), but I have a 8GB iPod touch, I just got it at Christmas, so it seams a waist not to use it so I use it for things like cutting the grass, and in the car/iPod speakers (since the iPhone doesn't work in either of these dock)

haha, pcee :apple:

I remember when I bought my iPhone that I told everyone I knew that my iPhone would not be my mp3 player and that I would still use my iPod and all that

Then, I started getting addicted to it and how I could get calls in between listening to it and the Touch parts

So, now it is my only mp3 player

i had a 30gb classic when i bought the 16gb black iphone and was happy to have 16gb for my iphone for whatever, but then my MOM sold my ipod 1 day later. so now all i have is my iphone as an mp3 player but its all good i guess! i would prefer to have an ipod on the side for my music and movies but i'll manage!

I use the 8gb iphone (1st gen) as my day-to-day player, but still keep a 3g nano around for the gym or beach. The tactile controls on the nano are still great for the gym, and I just feel more comfortable with it when moving around a lot.

I for one hope they keep the current nano (fatty) form-factor. To me, it is the perfect size and has a great balance of form and function.

I've got an 80Gb iPod Classic but for the last week or so I've been experimenting with using my 16Gb iPhone 3G as my day-to-day iPod. So far it's working out well. I rarely used the fact that I had all the music I own on my iPod, rather listened to one or two playlists. So the limited space on the iPhone is not really an issue. The only issue I've found is battery life, but a second charger at works sorts that out...

Having only just got mine about 5 days ago I'd say it had. Yeah, the battery drains like no other, there isn't as much storage as my 80 gig Classic but it's more versatile, and cooler. The 80gig will still be there as backup on longer trips away from home. Otherwise, I always carry the USB charger cable with me (heaps of computers I can use around Uni to top it up).

I sold my 30Gb 5G iPod video to get the 16Gb iPhone. IMO, 16Gb is the perfect ammount of space (just enough that you can get a decent variety of content). Very rarely do I find myself wanting to listen to something that's not on my iPhone.

My original plan was to use the iPhone for everyday use and get a shuffle for the gym. But whenever I used the shuffle, I always missed the iPhone's ability to transition between music and calls with the apple earbuds. So I got rid of the shuffle and now only have the iPhone. Just goes to show how great a job it does at combining so many functions. I could never go back to another device(s).

I use my v1 phone as an iPod usually, but for the rigors of working out I feel more comfortable with my 30 gig white 5th gen iPod.

Yes, iPhone is now my primary MP3 player.
One of the main reasons I got iPhone, so I don't need to carry 2 things.

i only have 6g of music on my computer so the iphone will be my main music player when i get it

Ever since I bought the Touch, it was my main iPod; I picked up the 160GB Classic to use as a total library depository. After I bought 2.0, the Wife started to play games and basically had my Touch from when we got home from work until I dropped her off in the morning... now that I've got my 3G iPhone, she's adopted the Touch and I use my iPhone.

Technogeek couples rock.

Use my old 4 gig nano in the car, and my 4 gig iPhone pretty much everywhere else. I'd prolly use the iPhone in the car, but I like having physical buttons in there so I don't need to look at the player to change the track.

I have about 150GB of music on my MBP. My 30GB iPod doesn't hold that much, but it holds most of the music I want to listen to and it sits in the car always as my music hdd for the car. My iPhone is now my portable music player. I use it to listen to music anywhere I am except when in the car and at home.

My original iPhone 2G replaces an iPod, and my 3G replaced the 2G. ;)
