Is your iPhone your regular camera now?

I guess I'm not the only one that is gradually sliding over to just using the iPhone's camera. As some have mentioned, you use my point/shot for important pics but I find that the iPhone's quality is just as good in most cases unless I need to zoom in. I haven't tried printing any pics that I've taken from my phone yet. I might check out some of the other photo apps to see what they have to offer.

I recently read a story about a news agency that wants it's reporters to use iPhones to take pictures. Just looked it up and saw the story on this site -

I am def not a pro, just take pics like normal for myself and things like FB. My iPhone is the only camera I use.

No, I still consider my DSLR my main camera. I do use the iPhone since it is the camera I always have with me, but I would not call it my regular camera.

Mine is. Don't really have the need for a DSLR, as much as I want one, but the iPhone makes a pretty good point-and-shoot.

Nope, I still prefer my DSLR for good picture. The iPhone camera is ok for casual photos, but I take a much better photo with my D3000.

It's my primary camera for anything not underwater.

Would also use it underwater if I'd have found a decent case yet.

My iPhone 5 is my regular camera. My only dislike is that it does not take quality pictures in low light settings; the pictures are far too grainy.

Yes, selling my Canon Rebel XTi as I no longer need to tote around all that gear, and my kids are grown.

I just need the camera to get a tad bit better in low light then I will be happy.

Yep, the camera on iPhone 5 is superb, comparable to some P&S cameras out there, maybe even better than some I owned in the past (especially for low light conditions).

I still have my DSLR and mid-range P&S cameras which I bring along when I travel or there's an event, etc, even with HDR mode on the iPhone still has difficulties taking photos in tricky conditions.

The iPhone is convenient especially when you take photos with a bunch of people and they want you to share them, you can just do it on the go as opposed to having to load them onto your computer etc.

Since my iPhone is always with me, yes, it is my regular camera. However, for my more serious city/land/nightscape work, nothing comes close to my DSLR.

I haven't tried printing any pics that I've taken from my phone yet.

And when you do, you will see why they make DSLR & Point and shoot cameras. Photo's that look okay on an iPhone screen look awful when printed as small as 5 x 7.

Absolutely, looking at all the pictures I have, none look better than what Ive taken with my iP5. Needless to say Ive never owned a high-end professional camera.

I have a 10 mp praktica brand amateaur camera. It's photos are better than my iphone 5. But I just use it at important things anymore. Instant share at facebook and store at icloud are good advantages

Yep. My iPhone 5 is more than adequate for the amateur photographer that I am. I think this is only the case because it's a top tier smartphone camera. I do not feel the same way about my work phone (Razr M).

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm just out and about, my iPhone is my primary camera for everyday snapshots, etc. But if I'm on vacation, or sightseeing while on a business trip, I carry along either DSLR or a Canon Powershot with a decent telephoto zoom feature.

The camera in the iPhone (almost any phone for that matter) is still insufficient for long-range zoom. Otherwise, its fine.

Same goes for video to some extent as well, although I very seldom take out my camcorder anymore unless I'm filming something like one of my kids school/sporting events.
