I can't hear anything unless I put my ear up to the left speaker area. I can hear the processor/hdd. In a silent room I can hear only hear the fans if They run above like 2500-3000rpm and they are only loud at like 4000-5000 (don't normally ever get them up that high).

All in all, it is amazingly quiet.

my mbp 2.1ghz c2d is quiet during regular use, browsing the web, music, etc only gets loud when a)gaming b) dodgy website with flash ;) c) converting/ripping dvd's 'isquint'.

Connect the laptop to a 24" monitor as well and never gets loud, good trick if you connect to an external monitor is to use few cd cases under the laptop so it's off the surface, also helps reduce the heat and keeps the fans down.

I can get up to about 4500rpm before the noise is faintly noticeable. Even at the full 6000rpm the sound is pretty unnoticeable unless I am in a quite room.
