I decided to order the Aura after all.. I cannot deal with the new style cases with the huge cut outs for the camera.

Anyway I was wondering how is the quality on the included screen protector? I looked at a picture on another website and it looked pretty good. I know normally cases come with crappy screen protectors, but I am wondering if this case is an exception.

this is the picture of the screen protector just in case anyone else is interested.
Seems like a pretty generic screen protector. I don’t know if it’s any different than many other screen protectors out there. If you only want the front screen protector, then go ahead and give it a try. You can report back later, on it’s performance.
Since I was concerned with possible scratching of the back glass of the phone should anything get in there between the back glass and the case, I went out and bought a Wrapsol protective screen wrap (it was the only back protector available locally). I had originally applied the screen protector that came with the aura, but since I couldn’t get all the bubbles out, and the Wrapsol came with film for front, back, top, bottom and sides, I installed the back and front Wrapsol screen protectors. They went on easily, and although there were still a few bubbles after installation, I followed the instructions, waited 24 hrs, and sure enough all the bubbles were gone!

I returned my White Aura without opening it and bought the CaseMate Barely There Brushed Aluminum in black. It has a larger cut out, which should take care of the flash issue. The backing is nice, as well are the sides. The only thing I don't care for 100% is that the sides are a shiny, possibly slicker black. It tends to smudge (although it is the side and not very visible), and for grip purposes I would have liked a matte siding. I would recommend this case. I purchased it for $32 after the Facebook like discount, or you could just find the code, I forget what I used. No tax. Free shipping.

Did you receive the case? I ordered the same case directly from Case-Mate, but they sent me the older revision with the small camera/flash cutout. Did you get the one with the large cutout? That is the one that I wanted to get.

I have tested taking pictures with the flash, but did not see any perceptible difference, even though the cutout looks similar to the Aura's. I'm wondering whether I should contact their customer service and request a replacement for the version with the large cutout.

I'm very interested in this case. Are people still having problems with the camera hole not being big enough?

For those that own this case, could you use a Dremel tool an make the hole larger without making the case look bad?

I'm curious if the light from the flash is reflecting back into the lens form the small ring of silver around the hole. If you look close at one of the pictures the OP has, you can see some reflection righ around the hole. Can someone who owns this case take a piece of flat black tape and wrap it around the hole so the tape extends around the outside of the hole by a few centimeters.

Thanks.

I also thought about that, so I took a black marker and blackened all the shiny surface around the opening. It didn’t help. BUT, I did get a hint at a possible cause after reading on Facebook someone that had a screen protector on the back of their phone and claimed that when they removed the screen protector it solved the flash problem. It seems that the screen protector added thickness between the flash and the case, which caused the flash problem.
I found that hard to believe as the screen protector is very thin, but to my surprise when I removed the back screen protector and put the case back on, flash photos improved enough that I no longer consider it a problem.
I’ve had this case for a while now and Really love it!
Here are a few more comparison photos.

How is the case holding up?

It’s holding up great. Not a mark or scratch on it. I love that with the case on the phone it still feels slim and light like the naked iPhone, but IMO the smooth, almost soft, feel of the polycarbonate sides along with the brushed aluminum back feels much nicer in the hand than the naked iPhone. I also like that the back ( I have the dark charcoal/black case) and sides show no fingerprints. I did install a Wrapsol ultra screen protector on the front screen for extra protection.:)

What would you suggest from iSkin, this or the solo bulky case? Which is a better case if anyone has both? I have a gift card from iSkin so I'm deciding what to buy from iSkin. Thanks.
