While I agree that $7 for shipping coming from Canada may not be that high, many competitors have free shipping. Yes, I realize they're having a great deal going on now...but $7 is half the cost of the case. It's just not worth it to me anymore.

If most of their customers are US based, then that presents a problem for them. Many people don't like spending 25-50% of the product price in shipping alone.

It's still an awesome case for $22 (and when I get over the shipping cost shock, I still may end up ordering one).

The case is $30 actually, you just get a special promotion this month to buy it for $15. Their shipping rates have always been high, don't see why everyones having a fit now? I guess because they have a 50% off promotion everyone thinks they deserve free shipping as well.

I actually have never ordered from them because of their shipping charge. I get iskin on eBay for a few dollars less and free shipping.
 
Ordered a Solo and paid via PayPal, but I've only received a receipt from PayPal's end of the transaction and nothing from iSkin themselves. Their store was getting hammered yesterday, but out of curiosity, did anyone else who paid using PayPal receive an order confirmation from iSkin directly?

Neither did I and since I ordered the Quartz version (which at the time of ordering did not show delayed shipment) I was, and still hoping, that it will ship out today.

I acutally placed an order yesterday with my Visa. Got a confirmation and everything was dandy.

Got up this morning to check my bank acct and realized they charged me twice. Just a heads up for any of you guys who paid with your cards.

Still waiting for a reply from iSkin.

I phoned iskin now and they said they did receive my order and they did send out an order confirmation. Be that as it may, she did say that my order would be shipping out today and I would receive today a tracking number after UPS has picked the package up.
 
I've been anxiously awaiting the Revo4, and now I'm a bit disappointed. Given the glass back on the iPhone 4, I was hoping that there'd be a hard layer over the silicone skin on the back, but there isn't.

I want to be able to protect my phone when it's in my bicycle tool bag. The big danger there is the steel multi-tool that shifts around while I'm riding. I didn't worry so much about my old 3GS, as I could put it in the bag with the screen facing the cardbox box that contains my spare tube, and the back of the 3GS isn't glass. Not so the iPhone 4.

I suspect I'll be looking for a hard plastic case not much larger than the phone + Belkin Grip Vue, and put a layer of rubber or somesuch on the case lid. Such cases aren't easy to find.

It's a smooth TPU material; doesn't stick at all. I loved the Solo FXs I had for my 3GS.

And perhaps I'm in the minority, but I'm happy they offered pink this time around. I was one of the ones bitching about the lack of pink for the 3GS, so yay. Curious to see what other colors they'll come out with down the road.
 
Despite the great price I'm on the fence about the solo. While I loved it for my 3GS I'm concerned about the cuts in the top front corners being a problem.

Yes but let's say you end up buying it at the Apple store for $30 plus tax. Not worth it.
 
I just received an email from iSkin, advising me of the UPS tracking number. So far, iSkin has been pretty efficient, especially when compared to some dreck case companies in this sub-forum.
 
The one thing that worries me about this case (Solo) is the covering of the volume controls. Even though it's a different case, I have the Boxwave Crystal which also fully covers the controls. The covering makes pressing the buttons extremely difficult by losing tactility. I almost wish that manufacturers would either keep the volume controls area open or have specific cutouts for the circular buttons.

Thoughts?

I have the Solo FX for my 3G and the increased pressure required was really a marginal amount. I, and most other people, did not find this an issue but a few did.

Too many "what-ifs" ;) I'm not over-excited with the color options right now. I purchased my last iSkin Solo FX from Amazon, and paid less than $20 shipped. I'm going to wait for additional colors to come out, and the price to come down a bit on Amazon. I already have 4 cases, plus 2 additional ones coming (the free ones from Apple). It's not completely necessary that I have this. I'm just saying that the high shipping cost, was the deciding factor in me not buying.

But you're absolutely right, $22 is still a great deal.

When I phoned customer support today regarding reception of my order (see posts above) I mentioned that this forum - which they are aware of - was complaining about the high shipping costs. I do not know whether due to volume they are getting a lousy rate from UPS or whether they are jacking it up inordinately, but I made them aware that this seems to be a problem for several people.
 
going on a trip aug 19 and i would like a case to protect my baby. Being in canada how fast is iSkin's shipping usually? And i see that they use ups? is that for all shipping or just for international

The Revo4 is a much more expensive case, design and material wise. The Solo is a simple TPU case and it's the cheapest to manufacture. Not that the material is cheap but you get the idea..
 
I wasn't able to order with my visa or mastercard because the service they use to process orders said my billing address was wrong, which is odd because I had just used that card with the exact same address to order my powersupport crystal with no prob whatsoever so I was forced to use a paypal account. All I got was my receipt from paypal but on iskin's site, it appears the order went through since i can check the status of my order and it shows that it was ordered but no other details.

I guess I have to wait til monday to get questions answered since stupid paypal inserted my very old shipping address in louisiana (i've been in oregon for 6 yrs now) even though I updated my address before the purchase. :eek: I'm hoping beyond hope that the folks at iskin will use the shipping address I entered on their site before I was directed to the paypal site to pay. I emailed them right after it happened but with the time zone differences and when I finally was able to pay, they were already closed :(
 
Was able to sneak through an order for the Solo iP4 case...in Clear. I wanted black, but mis-clicked. Asked iSkin if they could switch my order, but they were completely out of everything when I asked, so I feel lucky to have been able to order one.

I used an orange iSkin Solo FX on both my old 3G and the 3GS; never had a problem with the iPhone in or out of a pants (or other) pocket.

Based on that positive experience I ordered a solo for the iP4. Used the code & everything. iSkin was GREAT in terms of communication. Hoping the new case serves me as well as the Solo FX did for a year & a half.
 
I ordered the iP4 Solo in Carbon (Black) on Saturday morning. Haven't received a tracking number yet...hopefully will on Monday morning. Looking forward to receiving this case...glad to take advantage of the introductory offer.

I'm especially happy that iSkin stated that there will be no interferance with the camera flash. They purposely waited to create these cases until after the release of the new iPhone to do proper testing and design...smart. Hopefully I'm happy with the finished product.
 
I ordered my Solo Quartz on Thursday morning and it shipped out on Friday (I received a tracking number). It is already in the Montreal area and I will receive it tomorrow according to UPS's website. I chose the standard UPS rate.
