I just messaged my dad who has this issue since the iOS update, I asked him if there is anything new, here is what he says:

“Not working at all it seems. I have a good, really strong wifi signal on both our phones. The word WiFi at the top left side of the screen between the word Sprint and the wifi signal strength indicator comes and goes and when it pops up it never stays for very long. Apple senior engineer told me that some certain Cisco equipment on the Sprint network is having issues. Thats what they said that Sprint told them but Sprint is not telling me the same thing. They won’t admit to any problems on their end to me. Sprint told me that if wifi calling is enabled in my network profile and on my phones then the problem has to be software related or with the phone itself. They further suggested that I wait for the next software update to see if that fixes the problem. I passed all that info on to Apple so they can keep track of the issue but they couldn’t tell me when the next update would be out.”

Strange why the issue is only impacting Sprint users.

I had to downgrade back to iOS 11.1.2 and it stated working again

There's only a brief window of a few days after the newest iOS comes out that you can downgrade to a lower version that is still being signed by Apple.

Also, if you did a backup with the newer version of iOS 11.2 then you can't restore it to the device if it's on a lower iOS version, in the event that something happens. You have to delete your backups done with iOS 11.2 and do a fresh backup.

According to this post from the front page article, Sprint carrier profile 31.1 is now available which resolved the WiFi calling issue. Can anyone else on 11.2 confirm this?

Settings -> General -> About and you’ll see the pop-up asking if you want to update the carrier profile.

I will test it when I get off from work.

I have a Sprint iPhone X (unlocked, bought from Apple Store) with AT&T service. It has been working fine. And recently I got a SIM-Free iPhone X for my hubby so he gave me his SIM-Free iPhone 6s which now I use with Sprint service (as a spare phone). The Sprint wifi calling on this iPhone 6s was working AT ITS OWN WILL --- sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. Just a couple minutes ago Apple (or Sprint) pushed the carrier update 31.1. As of now it works normally, dunno if it will be down again.
