Looks like there a problems with the WLAN using the USB-C to headphone adapter (see iPad Pro reports). If this happens with the iPhone I am really in trouble because I am using my wired headphones much more with my iPhone than with the iPad....

Yes, looks like there are some issues that multiple people have already encountered. Hope this can be resolved rather quickly via firmware.

Btw Alex, are you from a German speaking background by chance? I’m asking because I haven’t found another area that uses the term WLAN so often and the rest of the English speaking world seems to use the term Wi-Fi for the same thing. :)

Yes you are right, Eric. I am from Germany (Heidelberg). Try my very best not to make too many mistakes as a non native English speaker.....WLAN is an abbreviation from the English expression "wireless LAN". It's something similar to the word "Handy" (for mobile Phones), which is also an English word that is used in Germany, but nobody knows that elsewhere...

No worries at all, I was born in Germany too and it’s these little things that give us away as non-native speakers. Always makes me think of home when I come across one. :)

Grüße in die Heimat!

Who on Earth cares? There is literally zero reason to change to usb-c, no advantage whatsoever, considering that charging ports are on their way out and the iPhone probably won’t have any at all by the early 2020s. Might as well keep lightening until then. Any speculation about usb-c is complete nonsense lol

Definitely don’t think charging ports ‘Are on their way out’ _yet_, At least not until Apple can create an alternative method from a hard-wired restore from iTunes. Wireless charging hasn’t been fully adopted either, it’s still a niche category for most, as wired is still very much the preferred method. Is wireless charging the future? Likely, but it’s not an immediate process, it’s transitional.

I have so many lightning connectors, I just want them to stick with it. Or make lighting 2 and have it backwards compatible..... I see no advantage to USB C yet. I still own nothing that uses it, everything comes with Micro USB. So until low end devices have USB C... I don’t want it.

Is having to carry two chargers that big a deal?

It will come next year I’m guessing

If we get USB C air pods port then you know what’s next

It would be nice to have some consistency on ports and cables to carry. I bought a new iPad Pro 11 a couple weeks ago..... I can't use the same cable I do for my iPhone Xs Max. I have a TON of lightning cables around the house......

IMHO......Apple should take one year and make a decision to change all of their products lines to USB C
Don't trickle it down across product lines slowly....just do it.....
