If it bothers you then why are you here and why do you pay "double" for Apple products, if you even have any Apple products, which I suspect you do not, but simply like trolling in Apple centric forums.

There's no need for that.

He claims to having Apple products but there's not a single comment in his post history that actually is pro-apple in any regard.

All he does is spews some anti-apple/pro-google **** in every other post of his.

But yeah, whatever. :p

The iphone 4 is very slow compared to my new HTC Sensation,

And you got it just in time, too! ;)

Enjoy.

Apparently the company he works for uses Apple gear, and he worked for Apple (or did work for Apple) at some point in some design capacity.

Must be something wrong with your eyes, ive used plenty of other tablets and they are all fine. The iphone 4 is very slow compared to my new HTC Sensation, menus and web pages fly up, while on iphone 4 its so slow. The new Android phones have really put the ancient iphone to shame.

Take a look at PlipPlop's posting record and ask yourself why do these Fandroid trolls feel compelled to join and post in Apple centric forums. Occam's razor applies here I believe. The simplest explanation is envy, fear, insecurity, which breeds hatred. Sad.

Woh! oh! oh!

Overpriced fashion accessory? Yeah right!

Are you one of those people who are somewhat pissed off with guys with MacBook airs or pros sitting at starbucks? Or one of those who think that people only buy Apple products cause they are an element of high-end fashion?

If so, get a life.

People find utility in those fashion accessories like the ones ' who build their own computers not choose to use the Mac OS'. Just let it slide and move on.
Those with 2 brain cells to rub together can buy a different PC for half the price and put the Mac OS on it. Sorry if I'm being condescending towards stupid people. I actually have no problem with people who own Macs because they are pretty, as long as they admit it. Macs ARE pretty. I just don't want to pay the premium for that attractiveness. If I had money to burn, I'd probably buy a high end Macbook and just put windows on it.

Nope. The average user does not and certainly will not do this.

Hacking an OS to work on non-approved hardware is way outside the average user's interests. And a lot of these users do have "2 brain cells to rub together", but rather lack the time or inclination to indulge in this kind of time wasting . . . err . . tinkering.

Sorry if I'm being condescending towards stupid people.

That's alright. I'm sure the stupid higher-income folk who tend to buy Macs and hold stupid advanced degrees in their stupid professions will forgive you.

I'm pretty sure Noam here doesn't mind.

Nothing wrong with my eyes. Every single Android phone I've seen is choppy with page scrolling, including the "top of the line" ones. I expect fluid motion in 2011 (4 years after the original iPhone) and have yet to see one. Now, perhaps rooted, Android-only phones work that way, but that's not what the general public generally gets. I've never seen an iPhone 4 struggle to scroll up and down a page. *Now* who has bad eyes?

Ive used many Android phones and none have had problems scrolling through menus. These have been a mixture of stock and rooted ones. The iphone 4 is terrible at loading web pages. So slooooooooooooooooooow.

Right. I am not gonna participate with you and troll this thread unnecessarily.

Good day.

How so? I dont think anything can stop the daily sale of over 550k new Android devices.

We're just talking about HTC here. Small steps first. These pave the way for wider action. And MS and the rest of the consortium might get involved as well. MS is already pulling concessions from Google.

Who knows, HTC might very well win on appeal or settle with Apple. But for the time being, HTC knows the game just got real.

And, it probably means nothing to Apple. The iPhone is a top seller and with or without Android, Apple can never take on the mass majority of Smart phones just given the sheer number of devices.... it's always going to be 1 or 2 iPhones against 50 others.

Again, this is not an Android vs Apple thing... they are to two market leaders right now. It's more of a battle for who will come in 3rd or 4th. Companies who should be worried are Microsoft and RIM.... RIM is loosing market share and MS can't seem to get any.

I can only speak for myself (And yes, I registered just to say this), but I've been lurking on this forum because it's like high brow Jerry Springer. I dissuaded a friend from purchasing an apple product by simply pointing her at this website.

I'm platform agnostic. I use Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris.. I don't care. Whatever gets the job done. A friend asked my opinion on phones and I told her the iPhones and the higher end Android offerings are pretty much equivalent if you only need the form factor an iPhone has. They have comparable quality, apps, and utility. I suggested she give WP7 a pass because it's new and the ecosystem hasn't established itself well, yet. Maybe when your two year is up. She couldn't decide, so I pointed her here. She ordered a Droid X the next day.

I've been reading the guys posts for far too long. He is almost never right. He is a raving fanboy that does not discuss, he just worships Apple blindly. I guarantee you I do not learn anything from his posts. I am an actual engineer with real experience and a thinking cap. I own almost everything Apple makes but not because I am a blind follower. I prefer real discussions personally. *shrug*

LTD does take Apple's side, but he actually has the right reasons.

Not in the latest poll I could find.

Yeah that guys off his rocker.. although I've come to expect it from most people on this forum. They have their heads so far up Apples **** that they never take the time to acknowledge the competition that pushed them to get where they are.

At this point, the competition is copying Apple, not pushing it, and taking some of their sales with misleading ads. Same with the MyTouch 4G.

The thing that's funny in that ad is that AT&T guy actually has a user, but the 4G lady doesn't

It depends what you're looking at.

In terms of handset for handset, none of them outsell the iPhone.

Then we get this:

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2385153,00.asp

Apple's got one strong product on their hands. And at most in the form of only one or two phones, on a limited number of carriers, and it's a closed, proprietary platform.

In terms of smartphone OSes in particular, Android claims the lion's share of the market.

In terms of mobile OSes overall, however, iOS is vastly ahead of everyone else in share.

Things like this are the reason why so many people in the real world dislike Apple. This and the whole 'App Store' Trademark fiasco. Also explains why i get stick for owning a mac.

It's posts like yours which tell me that people simply don't understand that business is a cut-throat game.

Apple wants a legal monopoly so it can keeps its 40+% margins. Doesn't that bother anyone? That they are essentially paying double for Apple products?

Did you forget where you are posting?? This is MR, Apple can do no wrong, MS can do no right, and Google is on a day-by-day ranking.

Apple's products could be created with Unicorn blood and baby meat and people would still down rank a story about such a horrible practice...just like they are about to do to this post in 3-2-1...

Name one judge or lawyer depending upon the nature of the invention that has a mechanical, electrical or computer science background and who is capable of hearing arguments, looking at the evidence and determining if a patent is valid or not.

Name one judge or lawyer who can look at a diagram for something as simple as a servomechanism for activating a camera shutter and make a competent case for whether that is broad based or not.

Name the amount of all the highly qualified engineers who go to work for the US Patent Office to determine the eligibility of patents.

Its an irrevocably broken system and lawyers, judges and the office itself are the problem.

Here's the problem with your points: a great number of patent attorneys, patent judges, and patent examiners have EE backgrounds. They are perfectly able to understand the information before them.

You gotta love how vague the patent is, at this point I'm waiting for some patent troll to patenting blinking or breathing and try to sue every man, woman, and child walking the earth.

Newsflash for ya. Apple infringed 2 of S3's patents and HTC now owns S3. Say goodbye to your beloved Apple products as well.

Good find. I didn't notice the exclusion order from HTC before.

It depends which patent portfolios are stronger. However, It seems HTC has filed for an exclusion order against Apple products in the US. Perhaps Apple can modify the offending code. But can HTC do the same? How critical is one vs. the other? And what impact on the product(s) would these modifications make for each party?

The upshot of all this will likely be a settlement between Apple and HTC and all will be well. This would be the usual outcome, anyway.

But there is one important proviso here: this does not end Google's problems at all. MS and the Apple-led consortium might all be ready with further claims against Google. In other words, Google might be on the receiving end of multiple lawsuits from their competitors. Of course, this all depends on whether Apple and the consortium members are ready to go ahead with such suits. MS is already pulling concessions from Google.

So we're really back to square one with Google.

Apple alone might have a difficult time dealing a serious blow to Google and their partners. However, Apple and the other consortium members, provided they stay out of each others' legal way, can present a very serious threat to the future viability of Android.
