i went back to the library at the university, they got like 10 new dual core imacs. so if stanford makes some new cores then i will take those over...get some real numbers again ;)

That is against the ULA, and on one hand unethical and on the other it is helping the world..

I am torn on this. If it's done for bragging rites, it's cheating. If it's done to help the world, then it's ok. I wonder how many people have done this, and not claimed the work.

There was much hoodara over the fact MacRumors members were doing this. See earlyer in this thread.

it's not like i wrote a worm like jethroted

i'm not preventing them from taking it off their machines either. if they cared about keeping ppl out then theyd lock it down...i don't hack into locked machines

I can't seem to find where it says how much my G5 is using. Can you tell me where it is mentioned exactly? Or if someone has a terminal command...

Sorry, it's only on portables. It's under the 'Power' heading under 'Hardware'. Specifically the 'Battery Information' section.

Hi Redeye,

Where have you been mate, your way behind me now :p
Don't you have any machines to fold on in your Macstore now that they all gone Intel?!? LOL

greetz, Dreadnought
Hi Dreadnought,

My folding has been a bit slow lately indeed. But please don't overreact, you had me worried for a second there. A mere 320 points, you will have to do better if you want to stay ahead! :p

As for my output, quite worrying indeed. I never, ever installed folding on the machines in the store. (Mainly because the quad G5 has no internet connection - go figure).

I'm counting on school starting again in a few weeks. That's where most of my folding is done.

I do have one slight problem on the machine here at home which could have prevented your (let's be honest here) pathetic attempt to overtake me in the long run. It just won't connect to the stanford servers for new work units.

Code:
+ could not connect to work server
- Error: Attempt #1 to get work failed, and no other work to do. Waiting before retry.
I'll have to look in to it...

Enjoy your 50th place while it lasts. It'll be over soon. And I'll make sure it'll hurt.

:D

EDIT: the home machine is folding again - reconfigured folding.
<soothing voice> It will be over soon Dreadnought, don't worry, it will be over soon. </soothing voice>

Well, it's over Dreadnought.
You did put up a nice fight at the start.
You'll get your few moments of glory when the next summer holiday breaks down my output again.

Can somebody please donate some of his/her processing time to folding for Dreadnought. It is getting somewhat ridiculous.

Did that hurt?

:p ;)

No, not a bit, I didn't even put up a fight. I didn't let my G5 fold 24/7, just 5 hours a day in the evening when I'm home. So your so called victory is a lame one. I can bring you down whenever I want! :D

Dumped F@H onto my sister's (now my parent's) Dell 1.8Ghz P4 as a startup option.

How would you go about uninstalling that anyway.

Will soon be installing F@H on the 30-something HP/Compaq/Toshiba/Acer/Sony notebooks at my CompUSA since the manager gave me the okay to. (I work at this CompUSA) Wish the desktops were internet-ready since we have a few Core 2 Duo machines in. Sigh. well, the Sony with the Pentium D will suffice, I guess.

Nice! I should get me a nuclear powerplant and a couple of extra Macs next to my G5, then I would kick your butt!

Checklist:
- Nuclear powerplant, check (my work)!
- A couple of G5's more (still on the wish list, maybe I can hack into Virginia Tech)

So you 'own' a nuclear power plant and still complain about power usage?
;)

Oh, and nice job RugoseCone (and partner)!

just passed 500,000 yesterday. who-ray! :)

winter is closing in over here, now maybe some of you snowbirds who took the summer off will turn the folding back on? please?!? we need all the help we can get with our daily points total...

I certainly have no right to brag, as I only have like 6258 points. What I do like is that I've jumped up like 100 positions in a couple months :)

Slowly folding along with my 700Mhz G4...

Dan
