Easy bro ;)

I was just wondering where he is.
His output dropped and i haven't read from him in quite a while.
Let us hear your voice mate, you made a lot of us fold.

Hi guys, I have been to Las Vegas to the NAB and had a short holiday. So my Mac was completety without a powersource (read: a nuclear powerplant to feed this beast!!) so it wasn't on. But if you guys have such a demand for my competition, I'm happy to fold 24/7 for the time being!! :D We have a lot of folding to do and catch those teams that are in our sight! And offcourse, I'm now #51 of the team, and I'm not happy with that! So watch out, I'm back....

EDIT: Ok, I just looked at my stats @ extreme overclocking. Everyone that folds 250 point and less and are in front of me, prepare to be overtaking! My G5 is yet again folding 24/7 from now on! I also have my PB doing a bit of work and whenever I get my P4@work working to talk to the foldingservers, I will have that running 24/7 to. So watch out, I want my # 41 spot back!!

#41? good grief, how long have you guys been folding? I'm only at #636. I have upped my processors to 9 though so i should start moving up I hope.:D

However you are moving up the wrong ranks. you are on team mac os X!!!!! Your not on team macrumors! O well at least its for a good cause.

Yeah i didn't know much and i've never seen that board before, i might need to bookmark that.... and i don't want to broadcast my macrumors affiliation too much :p

actually i have a folding question...why don't i always see the point values of the unit i'm working on? i just see the double dash mark most of the time.... I'm using increase.

About 2.5 years now. I have my dual G5 for about 2 years and that really is a foldingbeast! When I got that, I just rocketed to the top! But not long after, more people where folding with G5's and faster ones too :( or they have multiple computers folding.

2 years? Dang pretty substantial. I'm just happy to he helping. Just read some of the papers they published, kinda reminded me how much i like science lol.

I plan to start helping out when I (hopefully) get my MBP. I don't think my 1.1GHz Celeron is going to be doing too much right now (I've tried before).

Edit: Bah humbug. I've guilted myself into downloading the client and letting it run at night. Watch out Dreadnought! I'M COMING!

right on! have a couple clients running on slower boxes than yours. PII@400 is the worst of the lot right now. chugs along singing a happy little song. not many points, but it's just happy to get to play in the 'show' :)

recommend using config to ask for 'deadlineless' work units, unless this runs 24/7 and does nothing else. if you are using the gui client, right click on the system tray icon, select configure, select the advanced tab, at the bottom use the drop down box to choose 'deadlineless'. no chance of not making a deadline and not getting credit for a work unit this way.

As long as you don't pay the for the power, you can leave it on, else it's an expensive heater!!

Is there a switch for that on the console version? I have a feeling I don't need the deadlined units, as I'm running a bit over 10% per day. It stays on 24/7 (parents'!) and only gets used a bit in the afternoon and evening. Nothing processor intensive at least.

its not a switch, it's a string that gets stored in the client.cfg file

to set it use the -config switch, go to advanced options, and then change request work units without deadlines to yes

Do you guys also have a lot of very tiny WU's or WU's that are broken off very early in the process?? The last couple of days I have 34 WU on one day with only my dual G5 and only getting 86 points (or something) for it. It seems I'm getting the most worst WU's. And I don't think I'm the only one, looking at the 24h average of my nearest teammates, they to have a low average. I used to have 230 points per day with my G5 running 24/7!

Guys, just to let you know, in case you miss me again: I'm going on holiday today for another week, this time to Spain (Lloret), so my Macs go down and they will have a weeks rest. Good luck folding, catching up with me and overtaking the two teams that are in our sights! And for the ones that overtake me this week: MY REVENGE WILL BE SWEET!

Thanks, I did and also drunk too much and had much too little sleep every night. But now the G5 is crunching again.

My Dual G5 shut down for the current period of time due to Storm activity. I shut it down and unplug it from network and power :( . Sadly, my G4 (only a 500mhz) is also down during this period for the same reason :( .
