Nope, not gonna look anything like that. My cousin's, best friend's girlfriend, knows the gardner of the daughter of the guy that works on the iphone 5.

She told me that Jonny Ivey decided to make the iPhone 5 wider, not taller and with a lot more icons. She got this picture. Not sure it will fit in a pocket though. Should be 'amazing' texting in landscape mode.

Damn! Still only 4 apps in the dock?? ;)

I made the switch to a Samsung GS2 and only did it for screen size. I am not as happy with the Android phone, even with the addition of ICS the other day. Made it better, but it isn't that great of a phone to me. Hope the new iPhone is wider and taller, but any addition to the screen will be a plus. I'd be happy with a 6" screen, but I like using my phone for more than just talking.:D

There is one big reason why I think Apple may go with a larger than 4" display that is both wider and taller and that is resolution.

640x1136 is not in keeping with Apple's push for ultra high res displays this year. I have a sneaking suspicion Apple will want to go HD on the iPhone and 640x1136 is sub HD.

I have no doubt at all that Apple wants at the very least 720p on their phone, and 640x1136 is too incremental to survive two years on the iPhone 5S refresh next year.

So, 4.3" HD display might be the right mix.

HD on a 3.5" or 4" screen would probably be very unpleasant.

6" is jumbo screen!
Go for Galaxy Note 2, expected release next September. Display should be 5.5" large

We'll know what it looks like when the words "one last thing" are uttered. As much as some people want it to grow bigger and bigger it sill needs to be a phone and fit in pockets or on belt clips etc. Too big and its a iPad.
Someone was right - we'll buy it anyway. We buy for its functions and not its looks, I hope.

If it's 4" and it's only taller, I will not be buying it. It looks stupid elongated that way. I'm really hoping its 4"-4.3" with it being a bit wider.

In fact, you could easily make the screen wider in the current 4s design. Just make the screen go from edge to edge (or close to it). That way you can keep the current phone size, but up the screen size.

Wirelessly posted

I don't like this.

I don't care, it's obvious that Apple is stuck in a rut. Tiny phone, tiny screen. If they go to a stretched 4.0" that'll be rather bizarre & pointless for my use.

We've seen the last of what Apple has to offer, except new gimmicks designed to look good in TV commercials. It's all smoke & mirrors at this point.

Besides they know that the public will accept anything.

Apple is getting better & better at being the Bully & blocking the sale of competitive phones. There's nothing left to look forward too. Apple's enjoying the massive cash reserve & increasing it's pile higher by the day.

Nothing new, nothing exciting, business as usual :)

I can't think under any circumstances where a transparent display wouldn't be a complete pain in the ass to use. Why do people keep bringing this up?

Why do you believe it would have to remain transparent. Much like a screen brightness toggle, you could lighten and darken the background, and maybe even have a custom background that is simply a layer of pixels underneath all the text and graphics.
We already have glass and plexi-glass that can auto tint based on a users input or auto tint based on amount of uv light hitting the surface. That's not the hard part of the tech to make a phone like that happen.

on a phone a transparent display is pointless. You look at the screen to see the information the screen is displaying and nothing else. For it to even be an option is silly. Who wants to see their hands, the ground, a building, etc at any point while viewing their phone's screen?

Transparent displays are cool but they are not practical for a phone. A windshield that displays GPS, or a cockpit that displays radar, that stuff is functional.

Since I'll keep it in a case, I could really care less about it's appearance (the iOS does it for me). Just needs to have at least a 4" screen...

Just want a bigger screen and I'm happy i think. And a better front camera would be nice too
