I can't think under any circumstances where a transparent display wouldn't be a complete pain in the ass to use. Why do people keep bringing this up?

LOL! I didn't say that YOU would drool over the design or regret switching if this came out. I said "I" would.

Why I brought it up? I think it is the way phones will go in the future. Watch Corning's A day of glass on Utube. I don't think this is very far away, and I would bet Apple would be the first to be able to execute it successfully.

I also think it is COOL AS HELL!!!

on a phone a transparent display is pointless. You look at the screen to see the information the screen is displaying and nothing else. For it to even be an option is silly. Who wants to see their hands, the ground, a building, etc at any point while viewing their phone's screen?

Transparent displays are cool but they are not practical for a phone. A windshield that displays GPS, or a cockpit that displays radar, that stuff is functional.

People are also assuming there's nothing behind the display on a cell phone. Things like batteries, antennas, circuit boards, processors don't exist in these people's minds. Guess I'm trying to bring too much logic to the argument, haha.

Transparent everything, duh!

; )

All signs point to this:

The final product hardly ever looks like any of the renders made up from leaked parts. The only time we ever had a real idea before the product was announced was the time someone left a test unit in a bar. Outside of that every supposed leaked part has led us down a rabbit hole toward stuff that is not even close to what is ultimately released.

I'd be willing to bet this year will be no different.

I don't care, it's obvious that Apple is stuck in a rut. Tiny phone, tiny screen. If they go to a stretched 4.0" that'll be rather bizarre & pointless for my use.

We've seen the last of what Apple has to offer, except new gimmicks designed to look good in TV commercials. It's all smoke & mirrors at this point.

Besides they know that the public will accept anything.

Apple is getting better & better at being the Bully & blocking the sale of competitive phones. There's nothing left to look forward too. Apple's enjoying the massive cash reserve & increasing it's pile higher by the day.

Nothing new, nothing exciting, business as usual :)

Do you care to expand on any of that? What exactly is the smoke and mirrors? And what exactly is anyone else doing on a cell phone that is "exciting"?

I hope like crazy it's got a rounded back like the 3GS. Most awesome phone ever. I loved that design.

ECK. I LOVE the 4/4S. I'm hoping for something with less "wasted" space on face of the device, and *crosses fingers* the death of the home button.
