Congratulations and enjoy! :D

I upgraded from a 15 Pro Max Black Titanium (after the White Titanium was stolen from me) to a 17 Pro Max Silver, so I am very happy, I absolutely loved the white 15 PM and was sad when I could only find a black one to replace it as I have owned an endless amount of black glass slabs.

The Silver 17 PM is truly a replacement of my original White 15 PM, and it looks even more Pro and beautiful, so I am absolutely loving it.

The biggest upgrade feature for me is having the ability to set the battery charge to a preset limit. I love that which is something my 13 Pro Max didn't have. I am very OCD when it comes to taking proper care of the battery. I rarely charge over 80% and I never go under 20%. This is probably why the battery health on my 13 Pro Max was still at 93% four years later.

Tomorrow will be two weeks since the iPhone 17, Pro, Max & Air launched. How many of you are happy with your new phone(s)? What did you upgrade from? I upgraded to a silver 17 Pro Max and I am 100% happy with my upgrade from a 13 Pro Max.
Still waiting for delivery (17/256), I have ordered after the actual release, not during the pre-order.

Upgraded from a 15 Pro to a 17 and I’m extremely happy with the new phone. Great performance and great battery life. I’m very impressed with it.

Loved the Air.
Returned it.

Returned to my good old 15PM, which is basically the same Phone, just (quite) a bit bulkier and bigger, still has better battery, cameras and speakers.

But will be looking at the Air2 and/or 3, should there ever be one.

The Air's slimness and weight is just...amazing.

I returned the Air 2 days ago despite the camera, speaker being fine for me and the form factor and weight being super nice and very comforatable to hold. Coming from a 16 pro, I also appreciated the slight but notable bigger screen as I do think the pro max is too unwieldy.

However, the Air battery life always makes me put it on a charger, either on my desk or my car and I constantly watch that battery meter. I also received the 17 pro and the battery on this thing is miles ahead of the Air or 16 pro. Yesterday I had to restore my 17 pro from iCloud after a nights charge, set it up again, and while being on WiFi, 5g mix, some camera use, typical emails, browsing, some YouTube, having a regular busy workday, the battery on the pro was at 10% by 11:30P at midnight. Phone got a bit warm during the restore process but nothing terrible. I was surprised that not once did I have to charge the pro.

The Air on a regular day after the week went to around 20% by 6-7P, when just on WiFi, and during travel needs to be topped off. Topping off the battery is not crazy hard in this day of battery packs and wireless chargers, but it still give battery anxiety which I’d rather not have and not have to always have a battery pack in my back pocket on days of travel.

Definitely still some remorse in returning the Air, and the pro I can feel the weight every time, but battery longevity it’s important esp when the phone is a tool so that was the deciding factor.

Super happy with my orange pro max! I love absolutely everything about it. Came from a 16PM and even then I still feel like I got a decent upgrade. I’ve never been so happy with an iPhone and I’ve owned them since the of 2G. If for some reason I can’t upgrade next year, I’m still going to be very happy with my 17PM.

As someone that upgrades annually, the performance bump over the previous year's version is larger and more obvious than it has been in several years. And that doesn't even count the other improvements (camera, screen, cooler phone, etc).

Loving it.

I love my sky blue Air. Came from a 16 Pro (which I also loved) but the Air is perfect for me. The weight and way it feels in your hand is excellent. The larger screen is great. I'm not a heavy user and I have plenty of battery left after 24 hours (similar to my 16 Pro). I'm not a photographer, but will miss the 5X a little. The speaker isn't as loud, but is clear and I mostly use it for phone calls. I have it in the Apple clear case so it is protected but I can still appreciate its beauty. I couldn't be more happy with my new phone.

Just got my Air as well and it looks lovely - I am just waiting for my ordered case to arrive before migrating from my XR.

By the way, a question: should I migrate the SIM cards before transferring the whole content from my old phone, or vice-versa?
here is what i did, and it went ok. note this assumes you have iCloud storage plan turned on.

1 do a final Cloud backup initiated on yr old phone.

2 sign out of iMessage and Facetime on your old device

3 remove your old device from Find My on yr old device

4 start the simple process that apple outlines (with two devices overlapped). transfer everything either via wi-fi or by bluetooth. either way works. but give yourself up to 30 minutes for the transfer if you have a lot of data.

5 after the transfer of data from the old to the new device is compete, the new device will show its all happy and wanting to do the final steps to finish the new phone setup. do that.

6 its during that step that you will be able to transfer your (e)sim to the new iPhone. some carriers have a quick transfer, other carriers need to send you a text message with a link for a QR code. either way isn't usually a problem.
as per yr question, i was really confused about the timing for this. i planned ahead and actually changed my physical sim to an esim on my old device in order to make it easier to go from esim to esim. but i think it doesn't make it any easier in the end. however, read and re-read what your carrier says to do about transferring to an esim. and, anyway, this is the point when its done.

7 after you have completed the esim setup completely on yr new device, make sure its working. call yr new device from somebody else's phone, and see if it rings. whatever you do, try not to delete yr esim on yr new device. some carriers charge a fee for giving you another QR code to activate it a second time.
if your new device can give/get calls, then any later problems you have will not be carrier related. if there are problems it would be apple related.

8 on the old device, check under Cellular to ensure that no esim is still active. just delete it if you need to. its important to do this. apple has reported the iOS 26 needs this step to be sure to not have iMessage problems later.

9 if you are trading in or giving or selling your old phone to someone/somewhere else, go back to the old phone and initiate the well outlined steps to wipe your phone. its safest to do this anyway. select any and all options it gives to do a thorough and complete wipe. it takes around 5 minutes for it to complete.

10 after that, on your new iPhone, sign in to FaceTime and iMessage. Then sign in to Find My.

I like my iPhone 17 Pro but I am extremely disappointed with the battery life. It doesn’t last a whole day without charging it and I’m now resorting to switching to low power mode in order to make it through the day. Disappointing for something that Apple boasts to last 33-hours.

Before anyone tell me that battery drain is “normal” because the phone is “rendering”… I’ve had my phone since day 1 so it’s been 2 weeks. Reindex should’ve been completed by now.
Sorry, but something is not right. I'd visit an Apple Store or at least go on line and get assistance. Maybe an app is stuck in the ON position? I had that happen once a few years ago. It drained the battery quickly. It's a new iPhone. Let the pros figure it out. It is still under warranty. Maybe you can still take it back and get another one?

I got the 17PM Blue on launch day. This is an upgrade from the 14P so it is quite an upgrade. I'm still learning the differences. The cameras, the screen, sound and more are all greatly improved. Going from a Pro to a Pro Max I find that it is a bit harder to hold (no surprise) but I really appreciate the larger screen size for reading and looking at pictures. I'm more inclined to browse the web with this than I was with the smaller phone. The upshot is that I'm thrilled with this iPhone.

Perspective is so odd a thing. When I first got the iPhone 14P I was struck by the size of the screen. The other day I picked it up again and now it looks so small.

Just got mine today. Upgraded to 17pm from 13pm kept it on ios 17 so everything is new to me.

I love it. The whole aluminum thing is blown out of proportion. I like this design and definitely feels a lot lighter than my 13. I feel like if they would’ve kept the stainless steel sides like the 13pm it would’ve felt chunkier

I’m nearly two weeks in with my 17PM in CO. Picked mine up from store on the 20th. First thing I done after transfer was set charge limit to 80%. It’s dropped below 20% twice, and that was in the first couple of days. Since then, and even tonight, my battery is still 26%.

I’ve not really put the camera through its paces yet, but it’s had a fair amount of use so far and I’ve not had it throttling or getting hot at all.

Came from a launch day 15PM, still had 95% battery health and was an awesome phone, but I love orange, and when I saw the rumours and then the keynote, it was a done deal.

Love the phone, love the colour, glad I went for it.

I went from 14 Pro Max to 17 Pro Max and I really can't tell the difference. Only reason I upgraded was because it's been three years on ATT and it's time for a free upgrade. But I couldn't get the Nextup Anytime since I bought from the Apple store.

Base 11 to the Sage 17. Very happy with it.

I considered the Pro Max for the larger screen (my partner has the 15 PM and will get the 17 PM soon-ish) and telephoto lens, but decided I didn't need a bigger screen and the extra camera lens (and RAM) wasn't worth the $400 for me. Instead, I'll probably upgrade quicker than the 6 years I waited this time.

I've not got a case for my new phone yet so am being very careful, but it feels great in the hand and I like the green colour, so am considering only putting the case on when I go out.

However, I cracked the screen of my 11 a few months ago (after 2 years caseless) at home, so maybe I'm more prone to dropping the phone at home! Anyway, Spigen clear case is on its way.
