Apparently in this day and age we need emoticons to express sarcasm in something. Eventually they'll be necessary for any intention behind words. I can't wait until we need to start republishing all of our classic novels with smilie faces just so the youth of our future will be able to understand Pride and Prejudice.

oh and:

Now, that's funny. (But it won't be when it actually happens)

ha:D ha:D ha:D. it:confused: is:confused: going:eek: to:confused: happen:p.

i just got a new monitor mount and it can move everywhere.
is it a waste of time that i turn my monitor sideways or move it up down around my desk for each different task?
or post on a forum about what im wasting time with.

Because I enjoy using my Macbook so much for the most trivial things I am getting less work done. Oh yeah, hanging out in this joint doesn't help either.

Yesterday I organized all my desktop icons by color. Then I spent 30 minutes deciding on the best order for my dock applications. I think I have the "ultimate" sequence now. But I don't like the icon that Parellels uses for Windows. (I made a note in iCal to look for something better - maybe with some "blue" in it. I'll probably do this next week when I'm at work)

I enjoy booting my mac and timing it for no reason. I find myself cheating sometimes just to gain an additional second or two. I also stop what I'm doing whenever Time Machine kicks in just to watch it back up. (I often go in and out of Time Machine numerous times just because it looks cool).

Today though, I've completely abandoned a massive spreadsheet that's due Monday because I found this really cool game that runs on my dashboard. Crap... I had just organized all my widgets so they line up really nice... now I have to find a good spot for this new one.

Right now I'm firing up every application just to see if I can choke my macbook. It's kind of fun playing around with Expose' and 14 windows. I need to find some more apps.

Later on, I'm going to load Photo Booth and take some pics of me nekkid then email them to my wife (who's in the next room). This time I'll use the Fisheye effect - she hasn't seen that one yet.

I accidentally opened 500 Finder windows in one go on my iMac  I opened all these folders instead of copying them (was my music folders). Oops.

It handled it well though!

If anything, this thread is conclusive proof of how many Mac users are humor deficient. :O)

To the OP: I giggled. :) I think a lot of people must have just skimmed your post, because I did at first and thought you were serious, until I realized you weren't actually saying anything negative but were just listing off fun things to do on a Mac.

I think people need to read a little slower and not jump to conclusions sometimes. And also not rely on emoticons so much. I think good writing shouldn't require any emoticons at all. :D (Irony!)

PCs has no apostrophe.

You know, I actually bothered to look this up. Not that I didn't believe you, but I thought I'd heard that it used to be correct to use an apostrophe but now it's incorrect. Turns out I was either wrong or thinking of something else. :p

According to Purdue, you can use an apostrophe if you're writing in lowercase, i.e., "pc's." Otherwise "PCs" is correct.

Oh, English. You're so quirky.

This thread made me laugh. OP writes an obviously funny piece of writing jokingly describing why he loves his Mac so much and most people think he's serious! I mean, come on, no emoticons needed. ;)

I actually just played around with Photo Booth earlier today. Fun stuff. I like it. Productive? No. Worth the time and effort? Yes!
Ain't that worthless thing fun to play with? I'm a grown man and get a kick out of it. The effects crack my wife up.

And for the record... I'm wearing shoes when I send nekkid pictures to her. :D

Some people really need to stop drinking the kool aid so much, jeez guys come on, it's obvious the OP is just messing around.

OP glad you're enjoying macs, they're a wonder emporium of things to do :p

Great posts. I can't wait to get my Mac especially for taking nekkie pics in photo booth ;)

Conclusion, the OP has rivals a gnat in their ability to focus on a problem without getting sidetracked.

Sort of reminds me of the Tony Stewart Armor All commercial, where he just stares at his car all day oblivious to the world around him.

Well, I see it this way. Sarcasm and the ability to extract same from written word comes with experience. Many that didn't 'get-it' were most likely 16 year old owners of Macs by proxy, perhaps using a parent owned machine.

Did y'all even read his funny post?
It was actually quite creative

OP, I laughed... thanks!
Especially the part about email the nekkid pics!

Woof, Woof - Dawg

Exactly, especially the email part, pretty cool Richard !!!

I love this thread. And I agree 100% with the OP. I enjoy using it so much when I get a chance that I find myself getting distracted doing fun things :D

Lost it here :D I got this mental image of my MBP actually choking...think Bart Simpson-like choking (Simpsons movie anyone?) and then it spitting at me and getting grumpy for all of two minutes, then back to loving me and treating me well :p

Great post. I was expecting a rant, and in the end, it was superb. Knew it was funny from first setence

PS- someone in my house tried to convince me to start using a BT mouse that wouldn't work with my old PC. My reply? "But...but...I like using the trackpad". He just didn't understand.,..
