I was amazed at wifi earlier on in safari - don't know if these have n wifi cards in them

It's 802.11b/g only I'm afraid, although tbh I'm not sure the iPhone would be able to take advantage of 802.11n.

But I agree with all that's been said so far, the 3G-S is fast. Personally I think this is how the OS should have performed on the iPhone in the first place :)

The thing is the iPhone didn't have as much RAM and Processor speed as the 3G S. So it makes sense its faster then the previous iPhones. You can't expect a Macbook Pro with 2.0GHZ 1GB RAM to be as fast as one with 2.6GHZ and 2GB Ram.

Go surf the web on a G4 and tell us if its slower than your current computer.

I was hopping for 802.11n so I could finally dump my b/g network at home and go all 'n'. Never mind.

Any comparisons of third party apps? Stock apps can be optimised specifically while most third party apps wouldn't be at this point.

I was playing the blowfish game this morning and the S start way faster. It also lagged on my 2G.

Settings
3Gs < 2 seconds
3G 5 seconds

It takes you 5 seconds to open settings on your 3G? Something is/was seriously wrong with your phone. Mine takes < 2 seconds, anyone else's phone take 5 to launch settings on a 3G?

if my fedex guy decides to pull up at 3:00 on the dot I am going to kick him square in the arse!

I need my iphone!

I personally could care less if an app or program can open in 3 sec instead of 5 secs. I'm glad your enjoying your new iphone and it sounds sweet.. I will wait for the upgrade next year.

Battery percentage is sweet. Even while charging.

Edit: this thing is fast. Makes me think twice about jail breaking it. I don't wanna lose any of this speed. They keyboard is incredibly responsive.

for all of those metrics comparing load times between the two...is the 3G on 3.0? Is it a new image like the 3GS or loaded down with all of the apps you have accumulated over time?

I owned a 3G for two weeks before returning it to preorder the 3G S. The 3G S is faster, however, the five bars I was getting during those two weeks with the 3G is now down to three. Oh the irony!

Battery %

I have read in a bunch of places about this battery % indicator. Does anyone know where this elusive setting is? I am not seeing it on my phone.

Thanks!
