But I really really really enjoy waiting in processing for 20 minutes only to time out. Or to be unable to make it to that screen consistently. I'm so glad I stayed up for this! Nothing like feeling as if I'm an unimportant customer.

It's OK Apple, I've only been trying for 1 and a half hours now...

You know, I'm sure the problem is there's like 20k people all hammering the server (which can actually take it, I suspect), and that server is contacting AT&T's server to see if people are eligible to upgrade. I'm sure it's this server that is dying, and cannot respond to the requests in time, therefore they time out. Everyone refreshes and does it again. It'll only start working once people a) start getting their orders through and stop hammering the server or b) give up and try later, thereby stopping the hammering on the server.
You know AT&T isn't going to fix it, and there isn't much Apple's team can do...

It's not that I don't agree with you, but once I get to the point where APPLE should be processing my order, why am I still getting hangups and timeouts? This is Apple's server too.
Plus, I get random timeouts at random intervals which is incredibly frustrating. I just want to pre-order the damn thing. I have no idea if Apple is going to run out either, since they don't have the white iPhone it makes me even more leery of not being able to get a phone, so I keep trying.

Well since basically no one has been successful, I'm sure they aren't anywhere near close to running out ...
The thing that frustrates me is that, I'd be done with this almost an hour ago if I knew if it was possible to change my shipping address with ATT. I've been golden there everytime I try, but since I'm afraid I can't change my shipping address after I've preordered with ATT (and I've seen people order from Apple.com say they can do it), I'm stuck trying to get through on apple's website. I think that's the most frustrating part of all for me.
Do you have access to your AT&T account so you can change it or is under someone elses name? (Thats what I just did a few minutes ago)...
