I moved mine to a blank page of apps when it first came out. Forgot I even had it until I did the same thing with passbook this morning, put it right next to news stand. Two apps all by themselves on a page I will never go to.
I agree, it's annoying, but I think it's because iOS treats it as a folder.
+1 here, I've never used it nor will I. it should be an option but then again...we still can't hide other apple apps and that's been since the iOS 1.0.
Seriously, come on Apple. Give me a break.
Apple probably had to make several concessions to publishers to get their magazines and newspapers in to "News Stand".
Seriously, I'm not going to read a newspaper on my iPhone.
If I am correct, Newstand is the first app you can't put in a folder. Makes zero sense and takes up valuable realestate.
...but you have to pay for all of it.You should actually try newstand, and you'll see it's not just about newspapers.
There's a slew of periodicals and magazines worth reading...depending on your interests of course.

I'll bet two of those were that the App must be prominent, and that you can't delete it (like some of the other - for me - rarely used Apps, like the Stock-ticker).
