I moved mine to a blank page of apps when it first came out. Forgot I even had it until I did the same thing with passbook this morning, put it right next to news stand. Two apps all by themselves on a page I will never go to.

You're so cool. :D

You know what bugs me? When you have to use a pencil to fix a cassette tape.

Oh, is this not the thread for rehashing old gripes?

I agree, it's annoying, but I think it's because iOS treats it as a folder.

Correct. It is a special kind of folder, and of course, we can't nest folders, sadly. So it's impossible to put Newsstand in a folder (without jailbreaking, that is).

+1 here, I've never used it nor will I. it should be an option but then again...we still can't hide other apple apps and that's been since the iOS 1.0.

Same reason you can't put a folder inside a folder. If you don't use it, just throw it on an unused page. I think you should be able to delete it, but not allowing it to be put in a folder makes sense.

Also does anyone use newstand on the iPhone? I think it's great for magazines on the iPad, but I really don't see the point on the iPhone. Even if I wanted to use it it wouldn't make sense since the selection is so limited compared to the iPad.

If I am correct, Newstand is the first app you can't put in a folder. Makes zero sense and takes up valuable realestate.

I agree, Newsstand is something we should be able to choose to download. Even Find My Friends and Find My iPhone is more important.

Also, i get all of my news on Twitter.

Seriously, I'm not going to read a newspaper on my iPhone.

I read newspapers very often - on my browser. I have no use for Newsstand.

Somebody wrote Newsstand can't be put in a folder coz it is a folder. Hello? Folder in folders work on Windows for 15 years. Sometimes it helps to look at other OS for a reality check.

It's not like Apple said, "Hey! Let's piss people off by making Newsstand unmovable. MUAH HA HA HA HA HA HA!"

it does but we can hide the YouTube app, safari through restrictions. Why not give the option for this app, stocks, weather, ect. just sucks and don't get the reasoning of why it's not an option.

Newstand is probably the single dumbest element of iOS ever. The other apps you can't delete are in a close second. I put them all in a folder called Junk on the last springboard screen I never go to, except Newstand of course which sits next to the Junk folder.

Compass, seriously? And we can't delete it?

Apple probably had to make several concessions to publishers to get their magazines and newspapers in to "News Stand".

I'll bet two of those were that the App must be prominent, and that you can't delete it (like some of the other - for me - rarely used Apps, like the Stock-ticker).

I just made a "crap" screen. It's the last one which contains all my... err, crap. I just never swipe to it.

it's ridiculous, really. like chess on the mac. apple won't let us get rid of it (instead of offering it as an optional download).

at least let us put it in a folder. it IS an app, we should have the right to delete it or at least tuck it away.

annoying as hell..

Mine is in a folder on iOS 6. I guess it's because I did it a long time ago when you could? I've never moved it since.
