EDIT: have just deleted this link; i tried this (a way to move the newsstand app in a plist), and now am having connection issues between my phone and iTunes... so will probably have to restore...

too bad...

you can if that glitch is still in iOS.
I have mine in a folder because I don't use it, if I do it crashes springboard.

IIRC it crashes springboard because it's in a folder.

TBH, I'd like to be able to put NewsStand in a folder, but putting it on the last page of apps is an acceptable alternative.

I agree with the OP. Newsstand is useless. People aren't going to read magazines on their ****ing iPhones and iPods. I have an iPad with Newsstand and I don't give two ***** about that ****** app. If iBooks can be deleted, why can't ****ing*****tand/Newsstand be?

Not to highjack your thread but there are a few things as looney as this. The biggest being that we don't have contact pictures in the Contacts app or Phone app (contacts tab).

The Cydia app Cyntact shows pictures in both the Phone and Contacts App. This is such an obvious feature for a smart phone. Pics have been in phones since what 1995? Even OS X has it. When you scroll your contacts you can see their pics. Very handy. Why isn't this in iOS6? At least News Stand is relatively new so there's sort of an excuse.

Just tried this on iOS6 and can CONFIRM it WORKS!!

I have hidden Newsstand in a folder again. It doesn't show the icon in the folder preview, but it is indeed in the folder when I open the folder.

Thanks for this!!

Edit -- Hey, just noticed you edited your post. I tried it and it is working great here. No issues with iTunes or anything.

Here is the link again incase someone else wants to try -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMMcwwtOYrg

i was getting an error from iTunes that it could NOT find apps. i rebooted, and everything went back as before (newsstand on the main level again).

EDIT: i just tried the whole thing again, and seems to be good! synced my phone a little later, and everything worked, and newsstand remains in a folder. EXCELLENT!
