Maybe it's just me, but this update messed with the way album view works... Before, I could type the beginning of an artist's name and it would scroll to the first album by that artist. Now, it just dumps me somewhere random in my album list. If I then scroll around, I find that iTunes actually recognized my input, selecting the first album of the artist I entered... but since it dumps me somewhere RANDOM in the album view, it doesn't really matter that the right album is selected...

Is this just happening to me?

Still no CoverFlow...

Boo Hoo.

----------

Sign out and sign back in. It's a pain but seems to work.

I found that if right-click and select Add to iCloud, wait until the progress indicator disappears, and then do Advanced -> Update iTunes Match, it gets added after a few minutes.

I can't believe this is still so busted, especially since it isn't a free service.

Hopefully they've fixed the various problems I (and others) are having with Home Sharing.

Notably, having to reboot the AppleTV periodically to see Home Sharing shares.

But most importantly: I've yet to see Home Sharing work from within the Videos app on an iOS device. I can see my shares, but when I try to connect it always loads about 1/4, 1/3, or 1/2 of the little circle then hangs forever.

Presently the only way to consistently watch video from my iTunes library on an iOS device is to actually copy it over USB, which is very sad.

I have that, too. I'm running iTunes on Windows 7 and sometimes must reboot the Apple TV or reboot Windows, so I don't know who to blame. :) It's been awhile since I've had to do this so possible one of the last updates helped.

I've discovered that rebooting the device (home and sleep button) will "fix" the problem if it never connects. However, it can take a long time to connect and as an experiment I don't interrupt it and it eventually connects (maybe after two or three minutes). Again, being on Windows 7 makes me not sure who is at fault, but I'm still tweaking things trying to make it work better (including looking for a used Mac to run iTunes on).

What I care about is the following:

1. Automatically switches Audio/MIDI settings when i play a 24 Bit file vs. 16 Bit.
2. Add Izotope 64 Bit SRC.
3. Add a mono/stereo button, so when I play old stereo recordings in mono (because that's how they were originally recorded), then I can easily do that. The old Beatles and other jazz recordings from before stereo came out just sounds better in Mono, but they are releasing the stereo versions which don't sound that great all of the time.
4. Ability to add/convert FLAC to AIFF or whatever.
5. Ability to add DSD files that can get converted to PCM or play back with DSD DACs. This is a growing market and it would be nice if we could get iTunes to have everything we need without having to buy 3rd party software to do this.

That's an issue with larger libraries and I'm assuming it needs to be fixed in iOS 7 instead of iTunes, as it works just fine (and pretty fast, too) on previous versions of iOS.

iTunes 11.2 clobbers permissions of iTunes Library.itl file

My family shares our iTunes library. I have relocated the library to the /Users/Shared folder and given all family members access (via assigning a group called "Family" to the folder and it's contents, and turning on the "Sticky bit" to force inheritance of permissions/groups). This has worked for years without a hitch.

On first run of iTunes 11.2, it appears to rebuild the iTunes Library.itl file. When it is done, the permissions of the file are restricted to the user that was logged in at the time. The fact that the file previously had custom permissions is ignored. This includes iTunes ignoring the "sticky bit" that should have forced the file to be created with the same permissions/group as the enclosing folder.

Manually re-applying permissions to the file seems to have fixed it.

Podcasts don't work for me either. This was a downgrade from the many many downgrades to iTunes we've seen before.

Hmmm, 11.2 doesn't appear in the App Store for me (already u/g to 10.9.3).

If I open iTunes it says 11.2 is available; click the Download button, App Store opens..."No updates found"

Podcast changes:

- Take existing features
- Move them around a bit
- Add more explanatory text and buttons
- Call them new and improved features like they didn't exist before

No...it's happening to me too.

I noticed it now says 64-bit in the About menu. Hasn't iTunes been a long-standing 32-bit holdout? Or did that change with 11.0?

So uh... Does this fix the dreaded syncing issues I've had since iOS 7. I get red circles on my phone and iPad for most tracks. Syncing also always ends early. I've done EVERYTHING AND STILL NO FIX! My 64GB iPhone is a huge waste now.

Can anyone explain why iTunes 11.2 freezes up (requiring Force Quit) when I try to refresh my podcasts? I've tried repairing permissions, reinstalling iTunes, etc., with no success. This is frustrating since I listen to podcasts when commuting and traveling. Thanks.

**** Apple

Apple fixed their screw up it seems. But why they would mess-up their own software and then release it in a non-working state remains to be answered.

Dumb Idea!

iTunes and the iTunes Store ought to be separate applications. Stop trying to do everything in one app. Browsing my music should be simple.

Yeah, because splitting out Podcasts into its own separate App was such a wonderful idea and success. Or iBooks or iUniversity, th list goes on. Apple SUCKS at creating software and apps. Last thing we need is Apple splitting it's development resources into creating a bunch of unnecessary apps.

Here's a radical thought - instead of trying to come up with a million separate stupid apps to further clutter everything, just make iTunes work properly. Yeah, I know that's an silly idea.

Hey, they forgot to mention the best bug fix in iTunes 11.2. It now does tethered iOS syncing of contacts and calendars without needing to use iCloud.

iTunes Match needs attention to as well.. Plenty of times it takes a forever to upload music.

Oh wow, I thought it was just me! But yes, lately, when I add something to the iCloud it takes forever for it to say either "matched" or "uploaded". It doesn't even tell me if it is uploading the track or matching it either. What I usually do is quit iTunes then open it back up. When it starts back up, iTunes Match seems to be doing something in the background and that's when it actually lets me know what's going on. Hopefully this is one of the bugs fixed.

Still no fix for snow leopard usb hotspot kext.
Still have to revert back to itunes version 10.x kext driver.

The play button is still sticky and the interface horribly slow sometimes -.- C'mon Apple this is simple stuff. Your Windows version of iTunes has been going downhill for sometime now.
