Not to mention that now iTunes keeps auto-launching by itself, every 2 minutes or so after I quit it. What the hell is going on? Thought my Mac was supposed to make things easier and just work. This is completely flippin' backwards.
Glad to know that I'm not the only one. At first I thought I was going crazy, or maybe some demon was posessing me and clicking the icon and then leaving. Or maybe I just thought it was messed up. either way, I'm none too happy.

Has anyone seen the update in the Software Updater yet? ITunes told me there was a new version when I first launched it, however I'm waiting for Software Updater to tell me. Weird... yes... I know.

The problem resolved itself after I restarted.

I'm waiting, too.

I didn't even see an alert about a new version on iTunes when I launch it, but it's still not coming up on my SU either, and iTunes updates always showed up. Could this be a Tiger thing???

As of right now (I just checked), iTunes 4.8 is not in Software Update (I'm still running 4.7.1).

However, Pro Application Support 3.0 has appeared.

"This update improves general user interface reliability for Apple's professional applications and is recommended for all users of DVD Studio Pro, Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Logic Express, Motion and Soundtrack."

I gave up and manually downloaded it.

Noticed the new DVD player 4.6 didn't appear either in the Software Update!
Only got the Codex automatically appearing!

Anyone else notice this?

Oh I'm running Tiger on a G4 1.5 GHz PB.

What is going on witih Software Update?!?!?

iPod photo improvement via 4.8???

I noticed that the dreaded "Feb 2040" title bar has been fixed with 4.8!

Now, when I look at pics on my iPod photo, the first picture shows the directory name in the title bar and scrolling-through the pics results in the month & yr of the photo in the title bar! It's apparently picking-up the EXIF info in the photos because - for photos where there is no date info in the EXIF - the title bar still shows "Feb 2040".

Strange, I thought this fix would have come from a SU for the iPod, but...

4.7.1 autolaunches itself once in a while too (or may be i'm possessed by that demon too!)

Well... I just had iTunes 4.8 appear in my Software Update list.... So... It's now installed... Seems to be fine.

Just showed up today. No problems reported. Seems to run a tad faster loading up a database of over 6000 songs.

Here's hoping the next iTunes update includes support for CD-TEXT.
