So, back to the topic at hand - the Podcast control seems to have gotten an overhaul. The text is smaller in the management window, there are new icons, there are unplayed indicators next to playlists, etc. There is a new Get All button next to a Podcast (nice) and sorting has changed to numbers-after-letters. Podcast syncing has been very buggy for me, so I'm hopeful this feature has received some needed attention.

It wouldn't start up the first 2 times I tried, but I guess the 3rd is really the charm. That was on XP. Macs did it just fine first time. Oh wait, is this the right forum for iTunes 7.3?

There are a lot of terms that I grew up with that, after thinking about them, I don't use anymore. I've cut down on my usage of "gay" in that sense and entirely removed "I got jewed" from my vocabulary. One that I still struggle with (and that most people don't realize): is it okay or not okay to say "I got gypped." Hardly anyone associates it with gypsies anymore, but that is where the term originated from. Do we have a gypsy in the forum who can give me a ruling on this?

A bunch of pickies pinched my bicycle when I was a kid. I remember even the policeman who took the crime report used that term "gypped" back then (in the '80s). I've not heard it much since then either.

New Look for iTunes 7.3!

I have noticed a few new change to the look of iTunes since the update.

Check it out:

Keep in mind that I dimmed out the Cover flow for iTunes 7.3 in order to make labeling changes easier.

Yay iPhones! I predict the iPhone will either be a huge success or a huge flop. And if it's a flop, some avid Mac users will love it forever like Newtons. Anyways, when will the online Apple Store have it I wonder?

They Fixed The Blurry Coverflow! Yay

Finally the issue with my cover flow controls being fuzzy in itunes has been fixed, i know this has been an issue with mac minis and macbooks for a while...

AWESOME

also i dont know if this has already been noted but i wasnt likely to sit through 190 + comments looking :D

@Mod: Sorry about that, just wanted to correct the misconception. People spread that misinformation all over the place.

Anywho, the iPhone has been out for over 30 minutes now...any reports on how well iTunes 7.3 is working? No problems?

I noticed this update changes the way iTunes alphabetizes it's lists; *Nsync used to be at the top of the list when I sorted by artist (I know, I know. They suck.) but they're now down with the rest of the 'N' artists, at the end of that respective grouping.

Quite minor, and barely interesting. But there you have it.

I notice that now when a 'get album artwork' is complete a window pops up listing the albums it couldn't find artwork for, which could be kind of handy.

Dunno if it's done this for a while but it's the first time I've seen it happen.

That would be a FUNNY ringer... I work in a small group in the mobile industry, and we tend to try and grab unusual ringtones once in a while. I've lately been sporting the non-lyric themes to Three's Company, Different Strokes, Alf and currently have The Price is Right theme blasting in the office.

I'm quite partial to the theme to the 1980s hit sitcom Mr. Belvedere. Did I spell that correctly? There are lyrics, but they are fitting.

Finally! Took them long enough to fix the blurry issue!

i downloaded the new version, is their a reason why the numbers are at the bottom instead of the top for artist?
it goes from ABC-Z-123 when in the older versions it went 123-ABC

just a couple things...

1. interestingly, my iTunes installation appears to have GROWN since yesterday - now up to 104.6 MB. Any ideas as to why? 90 MB is already way too much.
2. InfoPlist.strings does indeed have a line about ringtones. BUT. InfoPlist.strings is used to localized Info.plist, which does not (in this case) have the string "ringtones" in it anywhere (even case insensitive)
3. iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/Yourlang.lproj/SortPrefixes.plist contains a list of strings that are apparently dropped from names before sorting. Thus allowing iTunes to sort "The Wanderer" under 'W' when in English and "La Journée Est Finie" under 'J' when used in French. Presumably one could add strings to this file, should there happen to be a particular string that needs removing to suit your purposes.
