I feel like the audio sounds amazing now...am i imagining things?

That was something I thought I noticed too... But I dont know?

After just a couple of hours experience I have to say I really, really like it...

There may be hidden some annoyances here and there (like I'm not totally happy with the way Album Artist and Compilations work with albums with different cover art), but even with a few popping up the next couple of days, I think I'll be very happy with iTunes 7, overall... :)

I can't get stupid iTunes 7 to play my music. It just sits there like a stupid useless upgrade.
And you feel the need to just share this with us in every thread slightly related to iTunes 7, instead of asking for help in one appropriate thread...?

I'm not a big fan of the new scrollbars and check boxes, and the album and coverflow views lag a touch on my PB, I don't like the blue icon (my favorite so far is the green, and don't get me started on the purple), and I'd prefer a more compressed (or at least compressible) source bar.
I do like that iTunes Store arrows only appear when the song is either playing or selected, the Coverflow view is cool (too bad I have many songs that don't have an applicable cover. Damn live recordings), the iPod summary is cool (especially the space usage bar), the iPod updating through iTunes system is much better than stand alone updates, and probably save space too.
It seems to take more RAM than before, but I have been playing with the new features, so I guess that's to be expected.

Also, they didn't break Party Shuffle! :D

I love it
It looks great and the integration with cover flow is awesome. When I first downloaded coverflow my only complaint was it's lack of iTunes integration, so to see this happen makes me very happy.

As for the scroll bars, I love them too, I hope they become the standard across OS X as the jelly beans bug me.

I'm tempted to dig through the image files of OS X and see if I can make them my default.

It's awesome...

Don't get me wrong I love the new iTunes, it is a huge step in the right direction but I still think there are quite some features missing:

• alarm-clock ability to wake from sleep and play iTunes
• songs in Lossless with song texts from iTunes store
• sleep function
• fully functional undo option for all actions!!! How often have I wished for that...
• Sync option to have the same song in different bit-rates. i.e. have Lossless at home and 192kbps on the iPod
• when I search for a song highlight the playlists it is in or reduce the playlists in the source list to the ones containing the song
• Ability to lock playlists from accidental deletion or removing songs
• search option drop down for lyrics
• extra music video library, not one music library for songs and videos

But with my luck I have to wait another year... :(

seems pretty cool to me.

took 20 minutes to open the first time and coverflow is so slow as to be unuseable (but then i knew that already). but it works, still, on a G3. huzzah!

the new layout works for me and the Get Artwork feature is fantastic.

The icon stayed the same for me (at least so far, haven't restarted it yet), maybe because i installed it using a different account. not that i'm bothered by blue over green too much..

eh like some of the features. I liked the old icon better... the playlist section needs a triangle so it can be expanded/colapse. Did i mention that its slow as an old granny driving... The music store take 10 years to load. Here's to 7.1

iTunes is the new testing ground for UI ideas in Apple. I actually like the duller scrollbars. Right now with only iChat and Safari windows showing and iTunes being all mini in the corner the only hint of Aqua I get is from the scrollbar in the browser. It kinda sticks out actually.

But on a sad note, and so if other people can check this, the mini-player isn't working right for me. Eariler today I'd click on play and it changes the button to the pressed in version without doing anything, and then you click it a second time to get it to unpress itself and actually play. Now I'm trying to recreate it and a separate problem has now occured. The progress bar is not advancing with the song. Oh wait now the controlls are being slow to respond. I can't change it from my airtunes speaker to Computer. Spinning beachball. Force quit. "Not responding." Wow. I thought I only had one problem. I have many. Okay... things seem to be working again. I don't like this.

Except I notice from your shot there that you, too, are experiencing the bug with Cover Flow. Every now and again the scrollbars for Cover Flow will become extremely blurry and pixelated. It usually occurs after resizing the Cover Flow view and switching to another playlist.

Overall, I like it. I have to get used to the interface, but the new features are great. The application in general is also MUCH snappier. Pausing and playing video is no longer very delayed. Now it's almost instant, which is awesome because that is something that annoyed me before. I just hope with iTunes 7.1 we get to customize the menus to our liking, as well as the scroll bar. I do miss Aqua. :(

Apple did a nice job, though. Sadly a lot of people fail to notice this.

I honestly couldn't care less... only bugs that actually interferes with the usability of the program bothers me in any x.0 version of any software... :)

Now... iTunes 7.0 has - touch wood - not crashed yet, hasn't erased any songs or playlists, nor messed with my playcount and ratings (which most of my Smart Playlists depend heavily on), and all the scripts I have seem to work. Considering this, and the awesome new features, I'm more than happy to oversee any little visual glitches for now... ;)

And the one you pointed out I've not even noticed, even when taking and posting the screenshot... :)

Yes, this is a good change. Looks fine to me. I really like how the movies and albums are thumbnail-ed. Good new features all round.

The complainers are always noisy, needing to share their misery. Resistance to change is at the root.

i like it.... but i liked the previous iTunes icon better

i guess i just need to get used to the new one :p

No one has yet mentioned the only improvement that really matters to me.

Finally iTunes have fixed that incredibly annoying playback bug where there was a slight interuption between segued songs like on most of Zappas stuff, now it doesn't miss a beat. Yay.
