Wireless sync. No more USB cables. More TV . video options. Apple has all sorts of options - i'd imagine it's in line with their plans for QT and iTunes for SL

+1 on this. I think they'll also include a built in 'simplify' type feature that allows you to stream music from a friend's itunes library. An update to the remote application so that you can choose to play your friend's music on your home stereo from your iphone would also be a welcome addition and an improvement over the 'simplify' application.

Apple do have to sort out iTunes becoming overcrowded. It started as a music app, not it covers Music, TV shows, Movie Rentals, Movie Purchases, Applications, Ringtones, Syncing contacts, mail accounts and calendars.

You can't move the iPhone to a separate application - it is, after all, an iPod. The touch needs all those things anyway, so they have to stay in iTunes.

Maybe they can redesign QuickTime and use that for movies. But then, it's far less convenient - having one store for all digital media is quite convenient, if a pain to use.
They ought to just rename it GrandCentral and optimize it for large libraries.

I'm hoping for notes syncing, wireless syncing, and hopefully being able to change App Store app icons (it could be like replacing album art). Some of the App Store apps are hideous and this would give us ALMOST theming capabilities and people's iPhones can look more personalized. I won't even buy Apps that have crappy icons.

I think we will just see inprovements on the UI, possible iTunes Unlimited?
(I am enjoying this annoying font thing)

I can assure you that iTunes 8.0 will NOT allow you to sync your iPhone wirelessly or any other neat features that should be included in such an update.

What WILL be included are more ways for apple to make money off of us. Like oh say a subscription music service.

Mark my words apple will pump iTunes 8.0 like there is no tomorrow not because it has any innovative or useful new features just a music subscription service which will affect there bottom line like wireless syncing could not.

wireless sync is so going to happen in the future, think about it…
  • iPhone 3G didnt come with a dock
  • its an iPod, internet device and phone in your pocket
  • has wifi
…the only question is when?

The iPhone 3G doesn't have a dock for the same reason that iPods don't have a dock. With the generations after the first generation Apple strips out what isn't absolutely necessary. The first iPods, up until the fourth generation I think, came with a dock, an iTunes CD, a wall charger, black covers for the head phones.

Sure wireless syncing may come soon, but not for the reasons you're stating.

PS: I hate this thread's ridiculous fonts.

Maybe it will look like iMovie '08's UI.

Now that's a neat idea. It'll help with iPhoto Library, iMovie Library, iWork Library (iLife '09?), and the Finder Library (Snow Leopard "Top Secret" feature? :p).

Too bad. :p
