The ability to hide explicit songs.
Hiding explicit songs is a great idea!

And, for those of you who keep recommending party shuffle, the request to incorporate cueing is for those of us who do not want to create a playlist of any kind at the moment just the ability to cue up songs on the fly.

One more request on my wish list, when I double click an album cover in cover flow iTunes should ONLY play that album and then STOP.

That won't happen, because iTunes sees it as one long continuous string of songs that you want to play. It would be too difficult to incorporate that into the code and still keep those who like it to play continuously happy.

If so, it's about time they took a good and hard look at their code. The reality is that other players are able to queue songs.

I really must be misunderstanding what you want, because if you set party shuffle to use "music" (ie not a playlist) and have "0" upcoming songs - then it queues up songs on the fly. (And if there's nothing in the queue it plays a random song - is that the problem, you don't want random?)

Anyway, one of us misunderstands something.
And either way - I agree that the Party Shuffle is not a well used feature, lots of people never use it and it'd be good to make something more useful at a real party (dragging songs you like to party shuffle is not self-explanatory - and if people double click a song it overrides the party shuffle).

ps. If you do use it doesn't clear your queue when you restart. The easiest way to clear the cue is to start playing it and just hit "next-next-next-(etc)"

Thank you for the info. I did not know you could zero out the playlist so it was me who was misunderstanding how party shuffle worked. It would be perfect for me now if there was a check box or something that would tell iTunes to stop playing when the songs I selected are done. You are correct in saying that I do not want party shuffle to continue on with random songs. I want it to just stop playing leaving an empty playlist until the next time I want to manually cue up songs. Thanks so much for the info though, you learn something new everyday. It works for me now, even deletes songs after they are played now that I selected "0" for display # of upcoming songs if it would just stop playing when the songs I selected were done it would be perfect. Thanks again! :)

perian

be able to play avi's as easily as mp4's

I don't know if it will work, but you can use the perian plugin to watch avi files (and a lot of more files) with quicktime. As quicktime is the working engine behind most video stuff in mac os x, maybe itunes will recognize the files as well. But I haven't tested it myself. (but you can make quicktime convert those movies, if you have the plugin).

What I want out of this whole "queueing" thing is the ability to "tie" songs together, even if you're listening to a playlist on shuffle, but still have them be separate songs. For example, "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" by Queen, "Heartbreaker" and "Living Loving Maid" by Led Zeppelin, and gapless songs like "Life in Technicolor" and "Cemetaries of London" by Coldplay, or anything from Dark Side of the Moon.

I would like it if Coversutra worked when you had iTunes in Grid view. Whenever I select a song in the Coversutra Menubar, it plays the first song i select but won't go to a second. I'm guessing it has something to do with the way the songs are layed out and because it isn't all one giant list it can't search around...oh well, I guess I'll just keep using Coverflow. :(
