I'm thinking for the full color spectrum, the only color we haven't seen in any iApp (that I'm aware of) is green...

Maybe Steve has a problem with Ralph Nader....😉

As if cut features in iPhoto 2 (UK version has no book or print ordering) wasn't bad enough. Tivo have just announced that they're to "switch off" it's UK members.

No they haven't!

See here for details.

Screw Tivo. Apple should buy SonicBLUE and have instant Apple-PVR's with the ReplayTV's. I love my RTV, and SonicBLUE can be had for a small fee. Tivo's new series2-with the extra features have been in replaytv's from the beginning. SB's problem is that the RIAA/MPAA hate them and want to make an example of them instead of going after Tivo or Microsoft for their UltimateTV BS.

If you think Tivo is neat, the capabilities of a ReplayTV will blow your mind.

TiVo User

I've just bought a TiVo series 2 to replace my series 1 for the sole reason that it can do Rendevous sharing of my music and photos. The option will cost an additional one time fee of $100, plus the cost of hardware to hook up your TiVo to your home network.

In related news, I just got a reminder on my TiVo that the "Home Media Option" (shown as "What's Next?") is coming soon. This would corroborate the April timeframe for iTunes 4 and the sharing app.

iTunes visuals need improvement

Dynamic library sharing is great and I'm looking forward to it but my most wanted feature would be real AAC support beyond what we got today with iTunes 3. I would like AAC encoding, visual effects, tags, etc.

I've heard in various rumors that the iTunes visuals will FINALLY go to the music. It's never made sense to me that no matter how intense (or subdued) a section of music is, the visualizer's effect can totally contrast what's going on. For example, lots of fast moving blur effects and quick changes when a quiet part is on. It really needs to do more than just match the sound-form. It needs to do some sound form analysis.

I suppose a separate App for Tivo capabilities is good, although I'd like it to be in, say, iPhoto 2.1. But then again, not everyone has a Tivo, and even less people would want to share iPhoto photos with it.

And for iTunes 4.......🙂

Only one question. What color will the music note be? We've had blue with version 2, we've had this pink/purple thing with version 3. What color will version 4 bring?

I think a ruby-red would be pretty nice or, a nice sort of lime green.😉

It'll be nice when we see the true potential with Rendezvous. Right now, it's kinda behind the scenes, but when it's out in full force, it'll make every other comany's digital hub look like an old-school telephone switchboard...

Of course, Rendezvous is available for anybody to embed in their apps or hardware, so I wouldn't be surprised to see windows apps coming out that are available to take advantage of it. It'll certainly help fend off microsoft, who will eventually say that rendezvous is bad, and make their own no-config, auto detecting networking technology, or whatever Rendezvous is...

Isn't Microsoft developing that "Zero-Conf" thing or have they finished it or whatever? I know I've heard of it.😕

I'm quite happy with iTunes 2...I think I liked it better than 3 since it had about the right amount of features for me without adding all of the extra little knick-knacks onto it.

Shut up.

I'll take those knick-knacks, thank-you-very-much.

hey just a thought but doesn anyone but me think that iPod updates could co-incide with the release of iTunes 3.5 or 4 or whatever????
just a thought!

Hmmm...

I wonder what kind of bullcrap the RIAA would press Apple with, about the Rendezvous network playlist sharing.

Not much, considering that Rendezvous is subnet only technology. It won't leave your subnet to reach other networks.
