I see that there is a lot more australian music on the iTMS I wonder if that means that it will be up soon. :D

Speculation is that it is awaiting an iTunes update first...maybe for the H264 codec

In today's (Thursday 5th May) Courier Mail, there is an article that says the hold up in the Australian ITMS is from a (unnamed) major label not signing up in time for the launch. So its delayed until that is sorted out. I'll try to post the contents of the article when I get a chance.

I can't remember which newspaper I read it in today but the competition were talking about ITMS Australia and how it'll be "good for the industry." I think it was Telstra or Ninemsn. Either way, it's public, ITMS is on its way down under. :D

I hope they have some good didgeridoo music, that's what i like to listen to when I'm riding my kangaroo to the billabong.

Nah, roo riding's legal in SA mate. ;)

Or did you mean the other companies talking about ITMS already? I've got a feeling it's official, so Apple shouldn't mind too much.

The article i mentioned is now on courier mail's website
iTunes hits the pause button

And here is the article that mad jew mentioned :
Finally, Apple's iTunes arrives
(title is a bit misleading though as iTunes hasn't arrived at this point).

I just hope there isn't anymore holdups from the record labels. I have had money ready to be spent at AU iTMS for quite some time. (yes i know i can just buy cd's, but i often only like 1 or 2 songs on an album so its a waste to buy that, and singles are expensive (between $AU5 - 10 each)).

Riding Roo's aint legal mate beastiality is still a criminal offence here in Australia, almost as criminal as the fact that our beloved Apple expects us to pay 1.60-1.70 Australian dollars for a 128 kbps song......I for one don't care when they intend to open the music store here.....Until they bring the price down and the bitrate up to at least a minum of 192kbps, this Australian won't be purchasing a thing from the Aus iTMS...But I wish them all the luck in the world as all the bastard companies here who hold a monopoly on music and telecommunications need a good bitchslap...Apple slap them down.....

Just thought I'd revise this thread from the depths with the new rumor circulating about iTMS Aus starting up tomorrow.

I guess we can speculate, but as with many things apple few know and fewer tell.
