that sounds logical - but what Netflix has that Apple cannot replicate? Apple has already hired show runners/producers and have money to make and/or outbid anybody on content - you don't need Netflix or Hulu to make TV shows.
Stop being a racist.

Stop being racist .
Every time someone writes "Apple should buy Netflix", I think they believe it's some shortcut to a bunch of content licensing deals already closed PLUS Netflix original content. I perceive, they imagine:
End result: much-less edgier original content at a much higher price (because a target profit margin seems to be THE most important thing in the modern Apple). I picture current Netflix show producers, directors & stars fleeing for creative freedoms not able to be realized under Apple's compliance (heavy) hand.
- that Apple would then leave the pricing of Netflix about where it is... which would make their new acquisition an enormous money hole (check Netflix debt). AND
- that Apple can have Apple-created programming (via this Netflix purchase) that would be rated R or towards NC-17, when Apple tends to be enormously conservative on the elements of media content that drive ratings beyond about PG-13.
I doubt we think much about what happens AFTER such a purchase. If we did IMO, it seems much more "be careful what you wish for" than some great thing for about anyone involved.
As far as I know the IPhone already augments the sports experience. Use Apple Pay to buy the beer and call on it to order pizza. Experience enhanced!RE: "When asked about sports, Cue said that Apple wants to "augment the experience" rather than own sports content, doing things like sending out notifications when a game stats to enhance the viewing experience. "We think there's a huge opportunity," he said, referring to making sports watching a more interactive experience. "
---
I doubt they have any clue about how-best to Enhance the sports viewing experience !
I doubt any of Apple's Upper Mgmt could name the starting OL for their Fav pro football team, or starting five for even two top NBA teams !
It takes being a Real Sports Fan to know how to improve the sports viewing experience !

For casual reading of magazine-like content, I prefer Flipboard. I miss Zite, which set the bar for aggregate RSS content. Flipboard acquired Zite but failed to adopt its superior presentation.
Content is a natural addition to the Apple ecosystem. Don’t make it sound like they are selling jelly.Confirmed. Apple is out of great ideas and is wandering aimlessly. They're spending too much time peering over the fence of the Apple orchard into their neighbors' lemon tree orchard. Make your orchard the best it can be, Timmy. Don't be distracted.
Time and Culture? Netflix has been in the video business for 20 years and they have greased the wheels of a culture to foster content for at least 4 - 5 years. No amount of money can buy either one of these for Apple.
Don't worry people. Apple share prices will continue to rise. Because we all care about their share prices more than the products they put out.
No wonder their content is so bad, Eddy Cue is in charge.
I can’t take Apple’s content ambitions seriously as long as Eddy is in charge of it. iTunes and Apple TV have been two of Apple’s worst products/services since Steve passed.
Too bad they're not "all in" on ousting Cue.
And still nothing tangible concerning AR, despite the repeated claims that it's super important for Apple and yadda yadda.
Apple is quickly becoming all-talk, all-buzz PR machine, in fact they could switch over to politics at this point.
Hardware wise, we're working with a tacked-on solution just so Apple can keep up with others, through the iPhone and iPads - but there's no new hardware in sight. There are over 50 AR apps on iOS platform for download more than likely much more. The tangible part is what you don’t see making ARkit a foundation to create apps to build on. Now it’s up to developers to make the apps.
The problem is with Carpool Karaoke, Peter, Homer & Bob we already went through the roof of Eddy’s intellectual /quality repertoire.Netflix and Disney are partners with Apple. Eddie didn't say their partners have no quality. He just said that Apple is only interested in quality. To me, that reads that Apple's initial original content will be sparse when compared to the hundreds of titles that Netflix seems to release every month and the dozens of superhero movies that seem to come out every year. If you ask me, both Disney and Netflix have a very mixed track record on quality but they both overdeliver on quantity to the point of saturating the market with forgettable IP.
All I know is that everything he’s in charge of is what sucks about Apple. No wonder you’re a bore - you’re full of purely unfounded and non confirmed hate for a man.
Wow. So 6-7yrs issues by your asusumption is worse than the remaining 14-12yrs efforts under the Same man you can’t take seriously? Something about your math seems off, or is it just verbatim of hate because well it’s cool. Maybe you don’t like how he looks?
Why should they be?
- do you have any proof what he does say to day quarterly or yearly at Apple? Or his work on Ferrari’s board?
I think you seriously need to start first on Apple’s executive staff site ... compare his responsibilities with that of any other executive staff at apple and beyond the CEO I dare you to list who has more riding on them in terms of products, services, etc.
All this internet bashing is getting very juvenile and senseless. Every article about Cue there’s posts like these. Why do I bother debating? I need to find that button of app for this.

That would mean he would actually have to stick his neck out about real change.I wish he would of commented on making Itunes more like Spotify.

Because the squadrons trying to find out what he's doing would become unemployed. Why does this ass hat still work at Apple? What, exactly, does he do and what has he accomplished while at Apple other than collecting an outrageous paycheck for not doing anything notable?
I'm talking about Apple's marketing message. They never use phrases like "the most" or "the most affordable". They prefer terms like "most beloved" and "best quality"."...but they will always choose quality". Honest question. What do you think that means and exactly how would they go about choosing quality? As a motto it works fine. Not so much in practical application. Also tons of content doesn't obfuscate standout titles. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime have a ton of content. As does network TV and premium cable. The great content always manages to to rise while crap falls to the wayside. What you did was apply tech terminology and mindset to the entertainment industry as if they're analogous. They aren't. But we agree that Apple will need both quantity and quality.
