On the apple forum I have seen someone comment the issue has gone in 8.4 beta. So it sounds positive that when 8.4 comes all will be back to normal. Unacceptable that the many users on iOS 8.3 are seeing this though. For sure its something to do with Apple Music causing this corruption but they should not let it affect a live database. We will watch this space. If the issue is still in there come 8.4 there's probably going to be quite a backlash on apple.

I know Neil Young started off in Buffalo Springfield but I can't work out how this was sorted...

Same for me here, same mess on the Watch also.. very disappointing.. I can't even connect with iTunes to my library anymore...

Sigh. iTunes Match screwing up, again.

I have subscribed to this service and this is the 3rd time something hugely bad has happened:
+ 1st time, there were hundreds of duplicates.. I had to manually delete.
+ 2nd time, there was hundreds of songs removed. Hundreds of albums had one or two songs missing from them. Had to manually re-add the missing tracks.

3rd issue:
This is on an iPhone 6 running 8.3

-My artists are not in alphabetical order.
-There are multiple 'artists' for each artists. There is no order / pattern. Two songs from the same album are displayed under different identical artists.

http://imgur.com/RiyHiVH

My troubleshooting includes:
-Disable / re-add iTunes Match. This just re-applies the duplicates.
-This is ONLY on my iPhone. My macbook and iMac updated iTunes match just fine.
-Powering off the phone / turning back on.

Why Why Why do I seem to have issue after issue.
I cannot make any sense of why I seem to affected, and why this has just happened.
I use the music app on my iPhone everyday and there was no update / event that corresponds to the duplicate artist listings.

Anyone else having issues?
I vaguely wondered if something is happening in prep for the Apple Music launch.

Not sure what is going on. I activated iTunes Match on my new MBP a few weeks ago. Out of 13,000 songs, i had over 1300 duplicates I had to go through and delete.

I've been a subscriber since it was beta and I'm not sure if I'm renewing next February.

Thank goodness this isn't just me .

I've had so many issues with iTunes Match , and have spent hours removing duplicate tracks / re adding missing songs.

When I opened music app and saw this I wanted to scream...

My iPhone 4S on iOS 7 doesn't have this problem, nor my iPhone 5s on iOS 8.4. Assuming that iOS 8.4 will be out to the public on Tuesday all should be good then.

I, too am seeing this problem. It looks like a bomb went off in all my iOS devices. That's in spite of the fact that everything looks good in iTunes. Interestingly, I've had sporadic issues over the last month as I've tried to rip new CDs. Enough fiddling always fixed the issue. Then yesterday, boom! It's soooo frustrating.

I saw this yesterday. iTunes on Mac is fine on iOS its a mess. Artists are scattered all over. Artwork is really messed up. I tried deleting everything in iCloud and run match over again. No luck. Now I have podcasts mixed in with music on the Mac. I have a feeling this is related to apple music so I guess I'll wait till after Tuesday to fix this mess.

I've stopped using iTunes Match on my iPhone and iPad and started syncing music to them through iTunes. It's the only way that I could get high res artwork to show up. I would add the artwork in iTunes and then update iTunes Match and the old artwork would insist on displaying on my devices even weeks and months later.

Deleting music I no longer wanted on my computer and the cloud and then updating iTunes Match would never reflect those changes on my devices.

These problems have been going on for months.

I just added a couple of new CD's to iTunes yesterday and it still says "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results.."

It's been doing that for the past hour. Glad it's not on my end and it's everything to do with Apple.

What is going on with iTunes Match I keep on getting this message
iTunes Match 4001 error

Not only that as many said duplicates of artist and albums also screwing up my screen on my iPhone the music section plus I also noticed in the Radio section the Featured Stations keep disappearing.

Is Apple doing some sort of update before June 30 launch of Apple Music because this is terrible for iTunes Match customers.

It's completely messed up on my iPhone and iPad (both on 8.3) and it seems fine on my iPod touch which is on 8.4 beta

I had this too but managed to fix it.

Try holding down option key , then clicking " turn off iTunes Match" ( under store).

Then click turn on iTunes Match ( no option key).

Worked for me

Tried that and no good and still all my albums are a mess on my iPhone not sure why this issue is not on the front page of MacRumors when everyone has been talking about it, I wonder if it has been reported to Apple about the issue with iTunes Match.

Man, my entire library is messed up. Different songs are showing in other artists. This is a mess!!

Had to turn mine off on iOS...went crazy. Work fine on iTunes desktop. Apple is so bad at online services, just buy google already.

Same. I just turned it off on my iPhone 6. It's a mess now. Not sure if it's because they are working with Apple Music or what but man it's frustrating. iTunes on my MacBook Pro is fine.

Ugh.

Same problem here... As someone who has spent countless hours making sure my library is perfect, I'm not please with this at all.

Has anyone tried getting any help from Apple? Is there any way we can get this to the people who oversee this website so they can bring some attention to the issue?

I have logged a support ticket with Apple and told them I want to be informed.
iTunes match has caused me many headaches since I subscribed, however for the sake of how much I like this service I have always fixed the errors and soldiered on.

In this case I find this beyond a joke and want it rectified or the service refunded.
This really is a shame, I really do like iTunes Match, and I hope the solution isn't to just subscribe to Apple Music.

i tried but it's a waste of time. The advisors only want to go through same old steps. Disable, re enable etc etc. there is no way in going to let them nuke my library and lose years of work and play counts. There is no way to get proper support, the problem needs to reach software specialists well versed in iOS/match but despite this I cannot get it past or escalated beyond the first layer. It's a waste of time troubleshooting user side when this blatantly apple side that the problem exists. The advisor would not acknowledge the forum links I am providing from here and over on the apple communities site too where the issues are exploding into action with annoyed users. I even tried cc Tim Cook (not that it would do any good) to force some acknowledgment. But no, it's been like banging against a brick wall. If a senior apple bod had the issue or noticed it you can bet it would all suddenly get fixed - but I doubt Tim Cook or eddy cue know how to use their phones much less have appreciation for what apple match is!!!

I think we need the guys who run the Mac rumours site to post an article on this major issue. Maybe that will register at apple but I have no idea how one would do it

Wondering if we could all be honest to try and figure this out :p
Ill admit, my library is 99% pirated** , and I have ALOT of duplicate artists compared to my brother who has no issues (all iTunes bought music).

** Obligatory and honest statement .. "I make myself broke going to concerts and buying merch to support the artists I love. Please don't flame me :(

I could be wrong, but I think Im onto something. I suspect this is an Apple Music prep issue, and is affecting the way Apple is handling our non-tunes sourced content on iOS8.3

I can confirm I'm seeing this on all my iOS 8.3 devices too. I guess it's some kind of preparation they are doing for iOS 8.4 launch with Apple Music. But yeah, not good.

iTunes Match has done things like this to me numerous times since it started. Even purchased content has gone wrong. For example one album I bought suddenly started to play the wrong songs when chosen. All the tracks were there, but the song titles didn't match the songs being played. And it happened to multiple purchased albums (only some, not all) and Apple Support could never fix it.

iTunes Match also blew out all my song ratings once, and replaced them with random ratings across most of my tracks. I use ratings to build genius playlists so this one really hurt me with thousands of ratings lost. I did keep a backup local library of most of them, so have been able to restore them gradually.

To fix all the issues I discussed I had to blow out my entire 13,000 iTunes Match library and start again. It had been fine until this new issue showed up. But I have since been duplicating my iTunes Match library with Google Play music. The Google Play app is capable of syncing all your song ratings and playlists (none genius) when it uploads to their servers. It's worth it for peace-of-mind. So if Apple never fixes this, then I know I have my library in Google at least.
