I have itunes match and i really want to like it (seriously) but i just find it too buggy. does anybody know if apple is even really supporting anymore or will it be dead in a couple years (see mobile me). It just seems like such a good idea and where music is heading (the cloud), yet apple doesnt seem to put a lot of resources into it!!!! anybody have any good alternatives? is amazon cloud player any good? what about google play music?

Wouldn't be a problem if you had better taste in music.

Sometimes running them back through iTunes encoder helps.

I just leave them. Matched vs. Uploaded is just an OCD thing. In the end, it works the same from my iPhone end when I'm on the go.

Even the most docile of musicians swear from time to time in songs. Apple should not censor music. Thats wrong.

I had it a week. I know it takes time to upload, but a week? And like I said, every time I used the "update iTunes Match" command, it would always finish with no errors.

I would select under iTunes Store and update iTunes Match.

They don't. They carry both versions so you have a choice if you want the cut version or not. It just happens sometimes Match gives you the wrong one.

iTunes Match has been the biggest headache for me since it first came out. I've tried it out twice, but have been disappointed each time. Problem is, I don't want my already-stored songs touched. I wanted them to stay, with the ability to add songs as I chose. Not possible with iTunes Match. It gives you duplicates, destroys your playlists, & destroys your album art. And if you want to go back by disabling it? I have pity for you. Since it destroys your playlists (on both your Mac and your iPhone), syncing your old music back onto your iOS device is very painful.

That said, Google Play Music has been a godsend. It is wonderful. I easily matched all the music in my library (about 10k songs) in just a couple hours, something that iTunes Match took multiple days to do. Next, it's a stand alone app, so it doesn't mess with the music already in my music app. If I ever have a problem with it, something I don't anticipate, I delete it. Gone, without any bad residues. And lastly, it's completely free. Apple makes you pay, not only in frustration, but in cash to enjoy the misery that is iTunes Match.

Damn. That sounds like a solution for me. How do I get Google Play Music. I can't find it in the App Store. I think it's currently US only.

I gave up on iTunes match because Apple couldn't seem to stop randomly replacing my uncensored songs with the censored versions. I don't have a lot of them, but if I'm used to hearing the singer drop the f-bomb in the middle of a song and instead I just hear nothing or a beep, it's really annoying.

Wow. So iTunes Match hasn't improved much since launch and it's now 2014. That's when I subscribed, upgraded my songs to iTunes AAC files, then cancelled after the year was up, citing: 1) unreliable service (my explicit songs turned to clean versions), 2) some songs are uploaded, though it's in the iTunes store - same album and everything leaving me with 9 matched song and 1 uploaded.

I guess Apple doesn't make any money on iTunes music so they do the MINIMAL effort. I was going to re-subscribe this year, but it looks like I won't have to since they haven't bothered to improve it.

I started using Google Play Music recently and it is great. It doesn't "upgrade" your songs like iTunes Match does, but after that hassle, I don't think the "upgrade was worth it. In the end, I just signed up for the All Access service and just stream everything on my iPhone.

I've used Match since release and never had a single issue with it at all on any device.

Same here had it since day one, & I'm in Greece, which is not one of the "big boy" countries with regard to when Apple launches their stuff & additional features for their various programs.

I still say if you don't care about play counts, buy the plex app and get music & video, anywhere.
