MacnCell reports that Motorola has submitted documents to the FCC which includes photos and the owners manual for the upcoming Motorola E790 -- which offers users iTunes Song compatibility, which has been long anticipated.

The site provides a image gallery of photos of the upcoming phone as well as images from the instruction manual. Instructions provided for the iTunes interface include:

Download music files: On your computer, open iTunes, connect your phone to your computer, and drag and drog music files to your phone.

Play music: iTunes > Songs > song name > Play

Create playlist: On your computer, open iTunes, click the Add (+) button, and type a name for your playlist. Then drag songs from your music library to your playlist. Connect your phone to you computer and drag and drop the playlist onto your phone.

A photo of the front of the phone is provided here.

GREAT NEWS! i have been holding off buying a new phone. i wasn't sure if i wanted the razor, or wait until this came out.

but yeah, how much is a good question, the razor is at $99.00 now, so i guess it depends...

Not quite as nice as Sony Ericsson's phones, and I'm a bit skeptical about the user interface...

But how much will it cost?
I'm really wondering about that, too... if it's cheap enough it might be my next phone... but then it would have to be much cheaper than SE 750i...

Doesn't seem too exciting--just what was announced all along: iPod-like software on a phone.

Which is fine: it's small news in a sense, since music on phones is unlikely to be ideal for most people--but it's a strategic "just in case" move for Apple in the long run.

I'm not sure why this minor partnership has always gotten so much attention--maybe because the schedule kept slipping?

I never expected Apple-designed hardware, personally, though it would have been cool.

And you never know, there could be more to the partnership than we know.

I believe this is old news? I remember seeing this a while back but a lot of people were saying that it wasn't the iTunes phone. I guess I was kind of hoping it wasn't since I think it's pretty damn ugly. It doesn't matter much anyway, I couldn't wait any longer so I just bought a Treo 650 instead and love it to death. Plus with iTunes/Quicktime/VLC/Address book/DVD Player/iPhoto integration, it's more of a iPhone than anything.

NOOO!!! you have to wait for he 670... oh wait it has Windows Xp... never mind! ;)

This keeps Motorola in the loop, but I seriously doubt this is what people were thinking of when they asked for iTunes to be opened up (because they kept asking for the iPod pop-topped instead.)

This is a bandaid to get Apple/Moto in the market.

I think the real Apple iPhone is in design now...think 1-2 gig shuffle like, wheel interface etc

Wow, that look pretty bad. Seems more like just a phone that supports DMR AAC files then a iTunes phone. Drag and drop?

Yea i think this will "test" to see if people will buy it and then apple/mot will proceed from their on a design...

Looks like the site has been Slashdotted. And don't worry folks. This is only v. 1.0. I'm sure the next couple of versions will be much better (especially if Apple co-opts their own phone).

razr for $99? where?

I really really don't like motorola's menu system. I bought RAZR expecting it to be like apple - beautiful to look at and great to use. Turns out Apple truly are unique! Why would they "test the water" with such a fugly phone? Why not just launch the main product? How is this anything like an iPod mini-phone? It's not, it's more like a phone with support for certain file types... It doesn't make sense.
