iTunes Radio - ad free if you subscribe but don't turn on iTunes Match?

I don't have match turned on my phone either and have been getting quick ads. However, today I noticed no ads at all! Not sure, if they updated it to recognize regardless or just the ads are down at the moment. Hoping the final version doesn't require it to be on.

Does anyone know what it means when iTunes Radio says "Singled Out on iTunes Radio"?

It is like a Featured Artist/Album/Single banner on the iTunes Store. Hard to get, but special.

iTunes radio is US only. It only works if you have a US iTunes account. You don't necessarily need to be in the US, just signed into a US account so it can unofficially work in Canada.

I've been using Radio since Beta 1 with Match variously turned on and off and I've yet to hear a single ad.

I have Match and I hear an iAd everyone once in awhile. They aren't very long or obtrusive like the Pandora ads, but I hope the ads stop when it goes public.

Update 2013-Aug-09: I've been listening to iTunes Radio for over 2 straight hrs and just received my first Ad. I'm not even sure it was an ad, it was about a 2 sec bleep. I think it's getting better and learning over time.
