I'm pretty sure Apple doesn't care to make iTunes run as well on Windows as they do on OSX. I have a MacBook Pro (specs in signature) and my sister's base model Sony Z series right in front of me. I can definitely say that side by side, iTunes runs much better and is more responsive in OSX than Windows 7. They may look the same, for the most part, but they definitely aren't the same.

I used iTunes on Windows because I am forced to.

If not, drag and dropping media content is much better.

I don't use iTunes much anymore, like I always say

SharePod (Copy iPod to PC) and Copytrans (Drag and drop) are two of the best programs out there.

They should come in a bundle.

Remember when Apple criticized Adobe because Flash ran so poorly on Macs? Everything they claimed about Flash is true about iTunes on Windows times two: it's bloated, slow, and buggy.

It takes forever to load, it's totally unresponsive for several minutes after it does load while it established a connection to my iPhone, and it crashed often. I gave up trying to do wifi sync because it was so slow and buggy.
