but what would you buy with 10,000 from itunes. It's not like its a gift card to the Apple Store.

I don't know if they're all on iTunes, but if they are then it would cost about $1,200 to buy everything with the name 'Star Trek' on it, I would think.

So that's a good start. Buy your top favorite 100 movies (easy to figure out) and that's another $1200 - $1,800 or so. Throw in all the seasons of your 5 favorite shows and that's another $1,000, at least.

So look, I just spent $4,000 for you without even touching iPhone apps, games, or music.

And that's just day 1.

lol Most hilarious that you unintentionally point out a "too big to fail" monopoly. It would be all doom and gloom if this were Microsoft's baby.

That would be awesome to win this! I filled out the form a bunch of times, with the assistance of Auto Complete. :D

I was buying Jim Nortons "Yellow Treats" when the contest ended, I'm sure i didnt win but think that might be hilarious if I did while buying a very dirty comedy cd

So much longer before we're at 20 billion downloads? Will the trend maintain its momentum? Will it accelerate even further? Will Apple stop selling songs with explicit lyrics? ;)

This is undoubtedly a milestone for Apple. :apple:

That is the point: FOR Apple. I see some parallels here with TOYOTA. TOYOTA became obsessed with their goal in becoming the automobile manufacturer with the greatest volume of sales. We all know what this has led to and Akio Toyoda admitted to getting their priorities mixed up. I would sincerely and honestly hate for Apple to go down the same path.

I hope that the winner lives in the USA as they will benefit most as they have the largest selection of contents on iTunes. I hope to goodness it is not someone in Japan as they will have a hard time trying to spend this amount on the limited contents in Japan.

:apple:No movies
:apple:No TV shows
:apple:Limited amount of music videos

I often wonder what exactly the local Apple companies are doing in each country. I would hope that they are constantly and conscientiously working towards lobbying contents providers to put their products onto iTunes. Whilst the blame may lie mostly with the hard headed attitude of the contents providers, I feel that we also have to question and apply pressure onto Apple to make more of an effort in this area. I simply feel that effort is somewhat lacking.

The wonderful technology that Apple has given us is full of promises and potential. Therefore, when the corresponding content is not available to us, the feeling of dissatisfaction is all the greater.

I may have said it before, but the "total songs sold graph" is VERY misleading. It appears sales have skyrocketed in recent months. Even a time span when apple sells 10 songs would appear to have the graph move up. A more accurate graph would be "songs sold by month". This would show the line moving up and down.
