So I sent back 2 phones last Saturday with Fedex. Scheduled delivery was supposed to be Tuesday to Apple. As of today, these boxes are nowhere to be found. They last left a facility that was on the way to destination but now status shows as "potentially delayed" with no delivery estimate. Called Fedex and they said they will try to trace it. My worry is that the old loans with Citizen will not be closed. Anyone had this before? suggestions?

I am having the same issue. I dropped my phone off the local Fed-Ex on September 29 at 11:16 AM. The FedEx app still shows the delivery status as pending. I am more than concerned my package is lost too.

Call Apple at 800-676-2775. They asked for the details and the tracking #. Told me I will get an email next week (although I did not understand what will the email say)

My Mom's trade-in box to return her 12PM didn't arrive so we called Apple to send another one. We received the second one and sent the 12PM back. Three days later we get a delivery from UPS with the trade-in box inside a clear plastic bag. The trade-in box was ripped open and the white box that the phone goes in was loose in the bag. It looked almost like someone tried to steal it, knowing there might be an iPhone inside.

I sent mine back on 10/1 and it’s “Potentially Delayed”. FedEx.
Welcome to the club. Something is up here...too many of us experiencing this. Don't know about anyone else preference but I never had issues with UPS (unlike Fedex). Time for someone at Apple HQ who deals with logistics to think about their partners relationships and reassess!!!

I am also in this club. Shipped two phones out on the same day and both made it to the Keasbey, NJ hub. Only one phone shipped from there back to Apple and it was processed. That loan closed out. The second phone is still listed as arrived at FedEx location and hasn’t moved since 10/4.

I have called and chatted with Apple and they keep telling me I have to wait and follow up when my loan is reinstated for not sending in the phone and then they will see what options they have. I just don’t feel comfortable with that because it’s clearly not my fault that FedEx lost the phone.

Both UPS and FedEx are experiencing shipping delays. I get lots of stuff delivered by both companies and both are experiencing shipping anomalies/delays. Also tracking info is not current, with UPS being the most screwed up. It wasn’t like this 6 months ago

I hope you got a receipt when you dropped on the boxes and that the weight was recorded on the receipt.

Same exact boat. Dropped two separate phones/boxes at fedex last Saturday. Last scan was Wednesday. Now showing delayed and nothing since.

FedEx picked mine up on 10/5 and was scheduled to be delivered 10/8. No tracking updates except PENDING. FedEx is garbage.

Same here…I’m less than 20 miles from the return facility in Elk Grove, CA…shipped on 10/1, been getting “in transit” updates twice a day until those stopped today. My iPad trade in box had a UPS label on it, dropped it off on the same day and it has been received and inspected already. Really not happy with FedEx lately.

OMG, I'm glad it's not just me. My trade in phone was scanned in when I dropped it off in the Phoenix area, and it was headed for Elk Grove, CA. It scanned in Tracy, CA (I'm not sure if that's close to Elk Grove), and then next showed up in Siebert, COLORADO! It's been "in transit" in Siebert, CO for three days now, with "delivery date pending". I'll be pissed if they lose my phone.

So glad it’s not just me either. I dropped my trade-in kit with 12 Pro Max, at a local FedEx on October 2nd and did receive a receipt, although there’s no weight listed. It was scheduled to be delivered to Elk Grove, CA on October 5th. It departed Tracy, CA (1 hour away from Elk Grove) but then ended up in Seibert, CO and has been there since Thursday Oct 7th with no delivery date available.

I called FedEx and the representative said he knew it wouldn’t make sense but that they have so many packages to deliver that mine went to CO instead of an hour away from its last scanned location. What? No, it didn’t make sense and still doesn’t. If this makes sense to anyone reading please let me know.

Next, I contacted Apple which has been a nightmare. One rep stated “Apple’s got you as this is not your fault” while another rep said they needed to escalate the case to Management and someone will call me within 3 business days. Apple then dispatched me through to Citizens One to make sure I wasn’t still being charged for the 12 Pro Max I shipped back. Citizens One said both the old and new loans are “on hold” but that if Apple doesn’t receive the returned phone I will be responsible to pay off the old loan on the 12 Pro Max along with the loan on the 13 Pro Max. Um, I don’t think so.

I did what I was supposed to do and shipped the phone from Fed Ex well ahead of the date Apple said to return it by. Not sure who needs to take over from here…FedEx or Apple but someone needs to find the package/phone.

At least our phones are lost together! Crazy that they were both mis-routed to the exact same remote weird place.

I'm doing text support with Apple now to see what they say. I didn't even get the trade in kit until the 29th, and I sent the trade in back on 10/1, so we're getting close to the 21 day mark, since they start counting on the 24th when we got our new phones.

I know! I just don’t understand how they ended up in Colorado due to FedEx having so many packages to ship! Makes no sense. I just don’t want to be responsible for the old loan!

Never never never did I say never use Fedex this is very common with them

As far as I'm aware, Fedex is the only carrier that ships the Apple returns. It automatically generates a Fedex label when you process a return on the Apple website.

There is something strange about this debacle. It’s almost as if Fed-Ex, Citizens One, and Apple are in cahoots on this. My theory is that Apple or it’s partner that inspects the phones has them in hand. The delay allows Citizens One to collect another payment. I know this is far fetched, but what other explanation could there be for so many of us that have the same problem. Apple and Fed-Ex need to come forward with a press release that will ease our concerns.
