As I type this, I feel so, so, but then I'll have the urge to throw up at random times (it's to the point where it's yellow liquid).

Ah, that's always the worst- I was on a band trip freshman year and I had my roommates get me food, and on having the fruit bowl handed to me I ran to the restroom, and that's what happened.

The yellow stuff is the worst. :(

Ew. That's never fun. :(

There's really nothing you can do with viral stomach infection except wait it out. As has been suggested earlier, sip slowly on 7-Up; ginger ale is good too. When you are ready to start eating, start slowly and with bland foods. Start with some dry toast or crackers, and then with other easy-to-digest foods like bananas, chicken, and rice. And keep hydrated. And also as mentioned before, if it persists beyond a couple days, call your doctor.

I had a nasty stomach bug back in June. I had to postpone a job interview because of it. Ugh.

Thats the worst idea I've ever heard for a class!

It forces sick, injured people to do it anyway or fail...who ever made the rule should rethink it.

I tend to like those, makes spreading the misery easier.

If you call in to work or a class like that and they force you to come in anyway. Think of all the people that'll be puking and/or sick right after the incubation period.

You: "I'm sick, can't make it."

Manager: "You have to come in or you're fired if you don't get a doctor's note."

You: "OK I'll be there to throw up on you in 30 minutes, BTW, I really hope I'm really really contagious"

I hate the dr. note requirement If you are sick and not getting paid, you sure as heck don't want to waste even more money at a clinic.

Gastro Enteritis I'd say. Fluids, rest, box-sets of your favorite DVDs, and call your GP.

I got it, along with about 30 other residents at a hotel once. Not the hotels fault - it was an airborne thing spread by one resident.

I agree.

I got really sick last year for 3-4 days. I was 27 years old, and had never been so sick in my entire life. Lifting my head off my pillow made my entire body ache and my head pound, and if I touched something a bit cool, or if my room was a bit cool, I felt like I was going to freeze to death. I can kind of remember how it felt to be that sick, so it's easy for me to feel really sympathetic.

Get well soon, and don't go to class.

Gastro Enteritis

I'd second that, highly contagious but you'll get over it. Strongly recommend you drink Coke and you'll be back on your feet in 24 hours. It's very potent towards bacteria and contains water, sugar, and salt so you won't dehydrate. Just make sure it's room temperature and also get the fizz out and drink it flat (oh and drink it very slowly). Take some dry biscuits together with the Coke.

Good luck.

I went to the doctor (mainly to get a note for not going into school).
I told him my symptoms, he listened to me breath, looked in my ear and made me go "ahhh". He said I had a flu, and to drink a lot of liquid.

I feel better than I did yesterday - haven't thrown up today - but I still have a headache and feel weak/sluggish/tired.

HA! Told you so.

yeap!

so, my gym teacher messaged me back - regardless of me having a doctors note, i can't pass the course, so I'll have to make it up next semester. On the plus side, it now means I can go see Bloc Party on the 17th, rather than having to go to gym class!

anyway, at least it can be made up, as it's my first semester.

I'm sorry, but that's bull****, and your teacher, and the rules of that particular subject would not only put other students at risk of catching what you have, it would also put you at risk since people tend to be weaker and prone to things like light-headedness, dizziness, etc, when they're sick. And the fact that a sick or injured student is pressured into attending due to the fear of failing that subject makes all that risk more relevant.

Personally, I'd go to the class looking really ill, and then go up to your teacher and tell him/her, "I'm here", with the sickest appearance you can muster.

On the other hand, if you have a chance to see Bloc Party...... ;)

I just got over the same thing you had.
Yellow liquid an all.

If you were like me, you probably couldn't even hold down water.
If your up for being adventurous, then get a suppository from your doctor.
I live with a doctor and nurse (step dad and mom), so I had it immediately, but it helped out TONS. You can't throw it up since your inserting it in your butt, so it forces the medication to you basically to help you stop throwing up.

It may sound gross and uncomfortable, but trust me, if your as sick as I was, I would have done a lot more then stick medication up my ass.

Hope you get to feeling better, however, your just going to have to skip tomorrow and fail the class.

Go straight to the head of dept or headmaster. That's totally unacceptable behavior. Sounds like a lazy ass bastard teacher who can't be bothered to spend the time to help you catch up when you're feeling better. Utterly wrong.

I agree, they have no right to have you fail the course because you were sick! You have got to be kidding me. Go see one of the higher-ups.

They failed you in gym? OMFG if I were you, I'd get a lawyer and fight it. That is sooooooo wrong. You were obviously sick and unable to perform in class and they are failing you for that!?!? Seriously, which one of my three family lawyers do you wanna borrow? They will tear your school down brick by brick.

b) I'm sick from the KFC I ate last night

As I type this, I feel so, so, but then I'll have the urge to throw up at random times (it's to the point where it's yellow liquid).

That exact thing happened to me about 1-2 years ago. Since that occasion I haven't gone to a KFC. I hate KFC. I do live in another country though.
