I don't think the majority of Apple customers have the time and resources to go and play with various monitors until they find the one that works. This is simply not normal nor intended by Apple. The issue with Mac OS is we always have to wait until the next patch. There's no really any means of "tinkering" in this OS. And the only way they will patch the "bug" is if enough people complain. But I guess some people here are more concerned about how to make your hardwares work for Apple than wanting Apple hardwares work for them. I thought that was the idea of Apple? M1 is good, but the issues are not normal and should be (to some extent, can only) be addressed by the manufacturer. Other than that, the solution is just a hack really.
